I would like to know how do we differentiate between a proving and homeopathic aggravation after taking a homeopathic remedy. Also i would be interested in reading about how long does the remedy stay in the body i.e how long the proving lasts. Any information regarding the same would be very helpful to me. Also if you could suggest some book for reading on the above topics i would be thankful.

In proving, a substance in original form, e.g. juice of flower, stem or root of a plant; minerals/sustances as found in nature; chemical as prepared or found; animal product etc., is given to healthy persons in material dose and the symptoms produced by it on them, on their mind and from head to toe, are noted. A minute quantity of this very substance will cure a person having some or all of those symptoms when sick, as per the homeopathic law of similars.

In homeopathic aggravation, which happens rarely in generally chronic cases, the very first dose of an indicated remedy aggravates the existing symptoms. It is an indication of the correct selection. The medication is stopped and the patient gradually gets rid of the symptoms/disease.

"How long the remedy lasts" is tabulated in the Homeopathic Materia Medica e.g. the one by Boericke.

Proving is self-invited/intentional and the aggravation is un-invited/un-intentional.

The book "Organon", the bible of Homeopathy, covers this topic very well.

Mr yogeshnagpal,
Thank you for good enguairy Please read Organon of medicine before entering in to this topic. Without organon you can't be learn what is homoeopathy. It is just like grammer of Homoeopathy. so english , without grammer will be dangerous english. Like this without organon homoeopathic is dangerous to patient.
