This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Hi-

These are not the same thing. This is a plant/tree that has 85 species. The Rauwolscine is
an ingredient from this species that they are using in weight loss pills. This ingredient
is banned in Canada and usa. It can cause heart problems.

The other-Rauwolfia Serpentina is the Indian snakeroot and has been used for high BP.

You should not be taking the first one bc it is dangerous. The second one as a homeopathic
remedy can have 'proving effects' if it is not indicated. If you have a BP problem you need
constitutional treatment and someone to advise you on what remedy would be best.

If you have a weight issue-try diet and exercise first, if you have not done that.

Here are some quotes by homeopaths on the Rauwolfia Serpentina'.It is favourite with herbalists for hypertension and is not effective in every case.'
sajjad'.Rauvolfia serpentina, commonly known as or Indian Snakeroot or Sarpagandha, contains a number of bioactive chemicals, including ajmaline, aricine, corynanthine, deserpidine lankanescine rauwolscine' 'Usually indicated in Hypertension associated with renal complaints - eg. nephrotic syndrome, etc, without pedal edema.'

'You should be on constitutional treatment for your hypertension.Since an homeopathic approach, we should chose a homeopathic remedy according to symptoms, and use it very diluted.
Some of proving symoptoms are:

Rawfolia Serpentina: Patient feels the heartbeat to the throat. Palpitation efforts, intense, the feeling in the fingertips. Precordial pain on effort. Palpitation with an irregular heartbeat when lying, standing or walking better. Transient elevation of blood pressure followed by hypotension.'

My age is 63. Blood pressure is on average 155/84. Usually take 3 times readings. Morning, evening and night. Readings varies according to exercise, tensions etc. No elopathy medicine taken nor any cholesterol or sugar etc.
Att times usually in morning Blood pressure is higher 165/90, maybe due to pressure of getting ready for office. Night readings are usually lowest I.e. After exercise and food etc.
One thing I've observed that once few burps comes (10 to 15 nos.) particularly in morning after a walk, BP goes down by 5 to 10 points.
Note:
I've observed this also when I took a Homeopathy medicine (sugar pill with BP mixture), few burps came and BP dropped from 170 /95 to 140/83.
Following are my questions:
-If BP increased temporary to 170/95, is it serious.
-is their link between burps & blood pressure.
- if average results are ok as mentioned above, still to take medicine
As a precautionary , should I take medicine or not.

My earlier subject was related to blood pressure medicine. Now I want to discuss about back (spine problem). In fact my blood pressure problem was detected in an orthopedics doctors clinic.
In July 2013 , I've visited gym and did very extreme exercise to flat my belly. In this exercise , I was sitting on an exercise chair, bending down & my legs were simultaneously going up. I felt pain slightly on the right side of my lower back as if I've teared something such as. Lingament. I continued exercise for next 3 days . Same type of pain came . This came on all the three days, one time each day when I over stretched. I did not realised that I was finding problem to stand up in my office, but could NOT relate it to over stretching as I was doing other exercises too. After 3 days, weather was cooler in night, my back ceased completely. I was in full pain and lied down for 2 days. Then took sulphadine , which made me to stand & walk. Once I start walking , no problem, but once I sit and stand up, difficult unless slowly & with loosening of all muscles. Doctor related to spasm & spondylitis. After one week, while standing up I felt if my back got stuck & in deep pain .I contacted a chiropracter, who literally with his elbow put pressure on 'some knot' over my right hip and got me relaxed. I remain in some sort of pain particularly while sittingfor 45 days .. I am not in favor of elopathy medicines, therefore took pain killer only for 15 days. But once taken 24 hours goes well. All was ok now, with the exception I had slight pain in lower back and I always wanted it to go, so that I can continue my exercises. Recently I felt at some position of standing , tingling affect between my hip & scrotum area which goes after some time.this maybe that I've started walking and slow running due to slight blood pressure.
Carried out MRI , Finding of MRI was :
-Spinal canal stenosis in 3 locations
-inter verbal disc narrowing
-bone marrow oedema.
-normal caliber
-no para spinal masses
-other disc showed no disc herniations.
BMd was ok+ ASO was negative.
Note: here I would like to add that one of my physical exercise upto July 2013 was to spread my hand horizontally ( 500 times maybe) with full force while walking. I am sure that this exercise has definitely some contribution on my spine cord. There was no finding for the tingling affect in MRI. I felt this tingling affect gets better once I put ice at lower back of my hip ie the original area of pain .It seems it relaxes my upper part of testicles area too. In any case my doctor has given a shot of cortisone mix medicine only yesterday. Results seem improved.
Please advise what medicines I should use to improve my back. Till to date I've never felt any back pain In my back with the exception of pain due to gym exercise.

The cortisone and Nsaids you probably got for pain, stop inflammation,
they don't cure anything and they also make you feel like you can
do whatever exercise, etc you want to-- and you really cannot do that
bc you will re-injure yourself.

I will ask someone to look at your overall and both of these things.
One is an injury the other is a chronic issue- the bp and it should be
treated.

One thing for right now- No running. You can walk and you can stretch,
but no running, no bending from waist, no push /pulling type things
with arms or legs. The best thing you can do is walk 45 minutes a day
for BP and the back, and do stretch exercises or yoga 'every single day'.

Other important factors: vitamin D was 14.9 taking syrup to offset + sun.
Uric acid was 3 months back 7.3mg.Imediately I've started plan to reduce it. In this regard, reduced meat, eat more vegetables, increased water level, also took Urtica uren.
AP spine : T-score is 4.9 normal findings with low fracture prevalence. Dual femur : T score = 1.8 normal findings with low fracture prevalence.

BP should be handled very very carefully and not taken lightly. There are countless cases of people getting paralysis due to unattended high BP.

Although I prescribe homeopathically but any case which doesn't show signs of cure within a month of homeopathic treatment should start the allopathic BP medicine. The risk is too great to ignore.

Hi Miray-

1. Your co-worker has to have his own post/thread. He has to
answer the questions. If he has trouble with English maybe you
can help him there.

2.If he wants to do this, go to above the first post on the forum.
See the button - Post new Topic. click that and make a headline
for him- I would ask for Fitness in the headline to help you.
