Cat´s lack of appetite

My cat is 7 year old, pretty spoilt, and loves sleeping on my lap and carried around. And she is jealous, intelligent and vain. Two weeks ago she had a needle extracted from her stomach and refuses to eat/drink by herself. She has eaten cat food for years and now she must be fed with Nestlé´s baby food by syringes. The soup ends up on her, on me, on my mother, on walls... The vet says she should have started to eat by herself 3 days after the surgery.
Please help my little lady. I even got the flu, cystitis and migraine after then. She needs to recover as soon as possible.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
If the needle punctured her flesh internally or externally she needs Ledum 30C.

Staphysagria if she had an incision made in her belly region. This will help it heal.

Ipecac 30c-Post-operative vomiting.

The veterinarian believes the needle didn´t punctured her flesh at all. I have Arnica 6C + Staphysagria 6C. Will it help her eat by herself again? She´s recovering little by little, but refuses to eat and drink. She nearly vomits when I feed her with Nestlé soups, but can´t seem to eat her food. She is extremely spoilt and looks too sad, resentful and traumatized.

I do not know what Nestle Soups are? But I suggest pure chicken broth and goat's milk to feed her. start slowly and use an eye dropper to feed her. Few drops at a time. Wait, then a little more. Stop often. Feed often. Feed slowly.

Pinch/pull up the skin on the back of her neck. If it snaps back down right away she is hydrated. If it goes down slowly or stays pinched she is dehydrated and you need to get her to a vet asap for i.v. fluids.

I would start with Ipecac for the vomiting. Staphysagria to help the incision heal. Arnica to prevent bruising and aid in healing as well. Get some Ipecac 30C.

Act fast, this is too long to go w/o fluids and food.

She has tried to vomit as to show she can´t stand the tinned chicken/meat broth anymore.

So switch her food. Try baby food like lamb, chicken, beef. Make sure there is NO onion anything in the baby food.

No cat vomits what they don't like. If they don't want it they either won't eat it or pick at it.

If forced to eat it, they either gag or spit it out. Like a gag reflex if they don't like it.

If she eats and then after eating completely vomits her food heaving and wretching that is different.

In fact, she´s eating Nestlé baby food (chicken and meat are available in Brazil). There´s no onion in it. I feel she´s resentful, sad and depressed.

If she feels like she has been invaded from the surgery and is angry and resentful give Staphysagria.

If she is grieving over the loss of something or someone, companion, etc. Ignatia. Ignatia also may help restore her appetite if she is depressed.

Otherwise please provide more detail about the behavior and exactly when it started.

If she is used to getting her way and now is resentful, you need to encourage her to eat and be happy. Show her in your mind why she is on the baby food and why she had the surgery. She may not understand. Talk to her.

She has always been our spoilt baby. She uses to be carried around, especially by me. From a bedroom to another, from the living room to the kitchen... And she´s extremely jealous. My 4-year-old nephew and she usually rival for my lap as I get home. If I´m sitting on the sofa, she hurries as to snuggle. The afternoon she swallowed the needle, my brother began to despair, speak out loud and punched our freezer. Then she was taken to the veterinarian, operated and left alone. I wasn´t around when she was taken, left alone and brought back home. Since the day had the surgery, she changed a lot. She looks depressed, resewntful, sad and I feel she blames me for not being there. She doesn´t walk around anymore and avoids meeting my brother and mother. The last thing she ate was her cat food before going to the vet.

Are you certain that noone harmed her or laid a hand on her whether it be your brother or the vet? Animals do not forget this and this may also be why she is stewing.

Have your forgiven yourself for not being there? Animals will read into your emotions and if you feel guilty she may be acting out on this guilt.

Nat. Mur.-Feelings of abandonment. They generally prefer to be left alone and are worse from sunshine. They tend to crave salty things. They also tend to be on the thin side.

Pulsatilla will get between you and someone else when they want your attention. Worse from heat. Easygoing, sweet, affectionate, but tend to have changeable moods. They also tend to be a little on the plump side. Their thirst is either minimal or absent. Key indicator.
