Can a professional please explain antidotal?
Hi, I am taking the following remedies together:Thuja
Ars Alb
Merc sol
Kali Bich
I have a book that says kali bich and ars are complementary, on this site however it says antidotal. It also says antidotal for Thuja and Merc. What does that mean and where can I confirm that information? Thanks so much!

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Antidotal means the medicine can be used to neutralize the effects of the other remedy.
This is one of the reasons you should not be taking more than one medicine at the same time, since any one of them could antidote the other (stop it from having any effect).
There are of course several other (more important) reasons as well.

Hi, thank you for your advice. I have yet to find one remedy that helps all of m symptoms. A doctor once old me that 10 days was sufficient to know if a remedy is helping, what is your opinion on this statement for ailments that have existed 5+ years?

No patient is the same. One has to look at the whole case, at what kind of complaints there are, what kind of tissue changes there are, how much suppression has occurred. Direction of cure guides us in understanding what each person's reaction means.
There are quite a lot of different kinds of reactions, each one might require a different strategy from us.
Some patients will be worse for those 10 days.
Some patients will be markedly better.
Some patients will go in and out of various healing crises.
Some patients will experience a reoccurrence of old symptoms or diseases which may require a 'watch and wait' response or might require either the same remedy in the same potency, the same remedy in a different potency, or a completely new remedy.
Some patients may get a partial improvement.
Some patients may get better in some symptoms and worse in others.
Some patients may develop a new problem, something never experienced before.
Some patients will develop a condition that runs in their family, but they have not yet experienced themselves.
Each remedy you take could do any of these things. You can imagine what 4 remedies might be capable of doing to a patient (assuming they are not antidoting each other).
The length of time an ailment has existed does not determine how easily that ailment lifts. It *can* have some influence on it of course, but the more relevant conditions are:
1. How strong is the patient's vital force?
2. How extensively have the tissues of the body been changed?
3. How effectively have the symptoms been suppressed, and is the suppression ongoing?
4. How similar is the remedy? (The closer the match the more quickly it works and the more effectively).
