Arnica safe before surgery 2

Safe before surgery?

Hello,
My neighbor is having hip replacement surgery next week and her doctors have told her that she has to be off of all pain medicines and supplments from now until next Wednesday. She is miserable and can barely move. They are, however, allowing her to keep taking an iron and calcium supplement due to her anemia. I have taken Arnica prior to surgery and afterward, but I was wondering if it would be okay to give her something to at least help her be comfortable leading up to surgery. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I am glad to learn that you have taken Arnica prior to and after surgery. You can reassure your patient that it is absolutely safe to do so and what is more important for her is that she will sleep well before surgery as Arnica promotes sleep.

You may like to know that I have taken Arnica 30c in the Wet dose once daily at night for over 18 years and I increased the dosage to thrice daily, prior to surgery.

Post surgery I refused all analgesics including Morphine and only used Arnica 30c in the Wet dose every 2 hours on Day 1, every 3 hours on Day 2 and every 3 hours on Day 3 after a Prostatectomy I had in 2002. I walked out of hospital on Day 5.

I had another minor surgery for Inguinal Hernia in 2008 and used the same protocol and walked out in the evening of the same day after surgery.
