1. Introduction :
Seventeen(17) years ago I experienced serious stress and anxiety at work. I used to get angry with the injustice and protested talking to myself at home when I am alone. Suddenly at work I started having serious symptoms e.g. “faint feeling”, “heavy head” etc. I will discuss in details about my symptoms in the later parts of the report. At that time I visited Emergency of NewYork University Medical Center and met the Head of Neurology. I was given an anti anxiety medication called clonazepam (Klonapin). I had to follow up with the same doctor in his private office and was asked to continue with the same medication. I had doubts about the diagnosis because the symptoms were very serious and always thought it is a neurological problem rather than neuropsychiatric problem. I consulted doctors(Neurologists) of Mount Sinai NY, Cornell University Medical Center NY, Albert Einstein College of Medicine NY, Emory School of Medicine GA, Presbyterian Hospital TN, Vanderbilt University Medical Center TN and few other Neurologists in USA (NY, GA, NC, TN) and outside USA. I also consulted several psychiatrics in USA.

They have done imaging (MRI & MRA & Doppler), blood tests and other tests. I will report the test results later. This is a case of stress anxiety problem worsened by continuous clonazepan administration as prescribed by doctors. This state I am in is called “benzodiazepine dependence state”. Clonazepam is a benzodiazepine. It is recommended not to prescribe benzodiazepines for more than 4 weeks. But doctors never cares for such recommendation. I was never told by the doctors until 2012 that all my symptoms are from benzodiazepine dependence. Only recently I got in touch with Professor Heather Ashton. She is a prominent Scientist and doctor in the field of “Benzodiazepine withdrawal”. She clearly told to me as she writes in her article and explains how my problems are from benzo dependence. This is the link of the article written by Professor Aston is the best and updated source to learn about “Benzodiazepine withdrawal”. I think it is very important we know what is written in Chapter 1 : The benzodiazepines what they do in the body and Chapter

2 : How to withdraw from benzodiazepines after long term usage. Clonazepam works by blocking GABA receptors and that is the way it calms down the Central Nervous System OR slows down neuron to neuron communication. When Clonazepam is administered by a patient it down regulates GABA receptor gene expression, and during benzo withdrawal it takes long long time to get upregulation of GABA receptors of proper structure and function. This slow upregulation of benzo receptor subunits is the main problem of tolerate pain and suffering of a patient why is tapering a benzo. Even when benzo is totally withdrawn patient goes through a state called “ protracted withdrawal symptom”. Very few long term benzo user can go for straight forward tapering of benzo. The reason is the whole nervous system stays in a state of hypersensitivity and a patient on withdrawal is hypersensitive and cannot take any stress of any kind. Withdrawal patients get help from alternative therapy e.g. Homeopathy, Acupuncture, Meditation, Self Hypnosis, Psychotherapy(example CBT), Affirmation techniques, Yoga etc. Classical Homeopathy works very well with me, I need assistance from Classical Homeopathy while I am withdrawing clonazepam.

these sysptoms are hard to explain, let me try to give examples and explain:

anxiety and fear and clonazepam withdrawal:::::
Let us assume that I have runny nose, water flows or drips out from nose.
I am lying down and closing my eyes. I Feel like a drop of water dripped out from my nose and this is real and it happened for real. I would open and think a drop of blood came out. I will be scared to open my eyes to see the drop. Then I opened my eyes and it was just drop of fluid not blood.
Then my fear factor goes up and my confidence level goes down. I am in fear.
Since I have had anxiety, I do not play or run.
My son was playing tennis and I was teaching him. Sometimes, the ball comes closer to my side. I have to take few steps to reach the ball. But after few minuets, I would imagine what if I ran and fell face down and my teeth were crushed. I would imagine teeth coming out and blood on my face , etc., After this I am very scared. I am imagining these things.
Also one day, I was home and I was alone then I heard someone is talking. I came down, my wife had really come and was talking. But I was doubtful.
Also when I am climbing down the stairs, I feel I am getting hurt by the railing.
Current condition is exactly what you would expect from a long time clonazepam administering patient as described in Ashton's Manual

2013

2012
In 2012 arsenic album was the only successful medicine. It was determined if I take clonazepam I can never get well, Prof Heather Ashton and her work clearly told me I have to get off from clonazepam. I need help from other therapies so that I can handle the extremely pain and suffering of benzo withdrawal. I need help from classical homeopathy while I am tapering clonazepam, I need help of classical homeopathy even after I withdraw clonazepam because post withdrawal period is even painful. Not all patients can withdraw from clonazepam. It all depends on genetics, family support, alternative therapy assistance etc. For example I tried tapering 0.083 mg everytime, I ended up having irritable bowl syndrome after second taper. I consulted by some great Neuro Medicine doctors and they concluded that this is from anxiety and from withdrawal symptoms of clonazepam.They gave me methycobal(B12) injection because my Vit B12 level was low. Methycobal works for neuropathy too. Since then I check Serum B12 level, I do not take B12 supplements even then my B12 level is fine

I was desperately trying to get better, because to survive I need to work. My wife was not keeping good health still trying to go to work. I was prescribed arsenic album 200 c. I was totally bedridden. I could not even figure out the 3 dimensions of our apartment; I had few times vertigo problem too. I had anxiety attacks and anxiety problem. I was taking clonazepam all through. At that time doctors did MRA of brain to determine how is the blood supply in the brain, test results were fine. MRI of brain showed white spots which was ignored by the doctors. I thought my life is ending, but ultimately one remedy worked and that is lycopodium 200c. I had to take once a month and it brought me out of bedridden condition, I was able to get up from bed and move around in the apt.
2005
We moved to North Carolina, that time I went through lot of stress because of moving. I was taking gelsemium 200c , this medicine really affected me. I was bedridden. I could not lift my head. I took clonazepam everyday as prescribed by doctor. When I encountered extra physical or mental stress I suffered. I used to go for psychiatric consultation, such consultations never helped. At that time I had head trembling problem (not visible trembling), trembling inside the head and twitching, that problem went away with 6 months of Plumbum Metallicum30c administration. A homeopath from Alabama gave this remedy. During faint feeling spells or during panic anxiety I had to take extra clonazepam and Kali Phos 6x tissue salt in hot water.

17 yrs ago when I was working in the lab I had a problem of faint feeling and heavy head problem, this problem did not go away within three days and ended up in NewYork University Medical Center Emergency. f) last year we moved to chicago area, winter is was very bad , i had raynaud type symptoms; all my fingure tips were tingly , little numb, reddish. No problem when winter turned spring in our beautiful Chicago. Did entire blood test with a local doc, blood test was normal, but low vit d and asked me to walk and exercise because my Hemoglobin A1c levels 5.8% and parents have diabetis in family background. my current age around 50.
