The ABC Homeopathy Forum

general homeopathy question

Ive just found a new pediatrician that uses homeopathy in her practice. My daughter has flat warts and she said I could put 10 pellets of dulcamara 9c in water and let her sip it all day. I forgot to ask for how like long. My question is, is that too much?

Also, she said to detox after vaccinations, takes 10 pellets of thuja 30c per week for 4 weeks. It just seemed like a lot. Does that sound right? Thanks for any help. She seems knowledgeable and I'm so excited to have found a Dr that also uses homeopathy so my insurance will cover it.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
This is poor prescribing. I doubt she is trained in homoeopathy. That would be a serious overdose. There are actual rules to using homoeopathy - you would be better served by someone who actually knows them.

A prescriber without knowledge of how to dose, probably doesn't know how to choose the right remedy either. In fact those prescriptions are made directly from self-help books on homoeopathy.

In my (professional) opinion you are putting yourselves at risk with this person. I am sorry to have to say that as you obviously have had trouble finding someone who can use homoeopathy.

Does this person have a proper qualification in homoeopathy - a Diploma or Advanced Diploma at least? I can't imagine they do making suggestions like this.

It is hard to know exactly how to dose someone without seeing the whole case, but this would be the general rule for using Dulc 9c.

You will need a small bottle (15-25mls) and a dropper. Mix some water and alcohol into this (ration 5:1). Place 3 pillules/pellets into the bottle and allow to dissolve. This will be your dosing bottle.

For each dose follow these steps:

1. Hit the bottle firmly against the palm of your hand 5 times.

2. Place 3 drops into 100mls of clean water (preferably spring or purified). Stir thoroughly.

3. Take 2 teaspoons out into your child's mouth.

This is one dose. Repeat whenever you give her a dose.

For 9c, if it is only being used for warts and not the whole case (extremely poor practice in homoeopathy) I would repeat it once or twice a day only, for no longer than 5 days. If there is no response in this time the case should be reassessed.

If a remedy is only given for one named physical symptom (like warts) then it probably won't cure. Homoeopathy is not practiced this way, certainly not with any success. The whole case needs to be examined and a remedy given for the person with the warts, since the warts have no existence apart from the person.

Orthodox medicine practices this way (only at the periphery, focussing on local problems not general ones) to the detriment of most patients, and homoeopathy works in exactly the opposite way (from the centre outwards, general state first). By changing the imbalance in the vital energy (life force) we remove the tendency to warts, and allow the body to heal them itself.

Applying a remedy on the basis of just a skin condition (so using 'wart' remedies) will either do nothing since the reason for the warts hasn't been addressed, will temporarily palliate them and then do nothing while they return perhaps worse than before, or will suppress them and cause something worse to appear or will cause some other part of the case to become worse.

Practitioners who are trained as orthodox medical doctors can often have a problem seeing things the way homoeopaths see them. They see all the body parts as separate from each other, they see the body as a machine you can just hammer with drugs and surgery to make it do what you want, they find the existence of an intelligent life force which suffuses every cell of the body hard to believe, they rarely 'join the dots' in a person's history to see the connections between various events and traumas. They often cannot see how the mind, heart and body are interconnected, with issues and problems interwoven together into a single tapestry.

As for the prescription of Thuja after vaccination, this isn't particularly useful or successful either. Another one of those 'give this for that' prescriptions you will find on those first aid homoeopathy books that are unfortunately so popular.

Firstly, Thuja was used for SMALLPOX vaccination, and this is where it developed its reputation. It is not a general cure-all for vaccine reactions.

Secondly, Thuja will only help if your daughter develops Thuja-type symptoms after the vaccine. There are dozens of well-used homoeopathic remedies given for 'vaccinosis' based entirely on the specific reaction that the person has to the vaccine. It is impossible to guess that unless you have seen a repeated set of symptoms with every vaccination.

Thirdly, dry pillules or pellets should not be given repeatedly like that. Homoeopathy is meant to be given in liquid form. Dry doses can be ok for the first dose only, but then should be diluted for every subsequent dose.

Fourthly, 10 pillules is way too much. 1 is sufficient. 10 is an overdose.

I don't know what to suggest here. I would be very wary of allowing her to prescribe homoeopathic medicines for you. They are powerful and can have side effects if not used properly.

Oh my. I'm so disappointed to hear this. She does seem to view the body the same as I, in terms of an intelligent force that should be allowed to heal itself rather than just suppressing things with medications. I've been looking for a new Dr for my kids that wants to help them heal not put 'bandaids' on their problems. I can't afford to have a homeopath all the time because they don't take insurance. I don't know where to go from here.

In terms of my daughter, she just turned a year and she has flat warts on the backs of her hands. I know they are, because I have had them on and off for three years. She doesn't have any other things wrong with her so I wouldn't know what else her 'case' would entail.

I was just confused when she was telling me the dosing because I know homeopathy is powerful. Before meeting the Dr today, yesterday I gave her 1 tsp of 2 pellets dulcamara 30c in water. Tomorrow I will hit the water 5 times and give her another tsp. I will give her a total of 5 doses this way. I'm hoping this heals her.

Also, do vaccines antidote remedies. I thought I read they did, but she had never heard that. She didn't persuade or dissuade me into getting them. My husband won't budge on this matter though so she will need yo get them. Just wondering for my knowledge.

If you are giving Dulc 30c, do not give her any more than 3 doses. It is important that before each dose you think carefully about whether any of her symptoms have worsened, mental-physical-emotional. If so, do not give another dose. 30c is much deeper acting than 6c and does not require as much repeating. Make sure you have a bottle with the pellets dissolved in it, and you use the same bottle each time. Alcohol preserves the remedy - without it they only last a few days.

It is unlikely your daughter has no other indications for a remedy - the warts must have come from somewhere within. Dulcamara can cure them, if the whole case suits. Warts are definitely not a local problem, but a systemic one - even from a medical perspective (the virus exists within the body and manifests on the skin).

Did this doctor take a whole case to decide on the remedy? Did she go through her history, your family history, the birth and pregnancy, examine her closely, ask about sleep and feeding and mood etc? Often the mother's state during pregnancy can be vital to understanding the remedy the child needs, as a mother reflects the child during this time and can verbalise feelings and sensations that a baby cannot.

I am a firm opponent of vaccination, having not only treated hundreds of vaccine damaged children, but having been a vaccine damaged child myself. However, every parent needs to make that choice themselves, as I understand there are multiple legal and social pressures at play.

Vaccines don't antidote as such, they harm, they damage, they disable. They activate the latent disposition to chronic disease, and cause it to take the most peculiar, perverted, dangerous form it can take. Every child's sensitivity to vaccination is different, so there is no telling who the most vulnerable will be until it hits them. Despite good treatment by homoeopathy, it can bring to life their latent chronic disease (miasm) much earlier in their life than would have been normal for them.

I have seen so many lives ruined because of vaccination. My own nearly one of them had I not found homoeopathy eventually.

Bwill- fyi- for acute ailments with children you can work by phone with
Mary Aspinwall ( Santa Barbara) or Lia Bello ( nurse homeopath in NM) they will
prescribe and include follow ups for $50. That is very reasonable and they
each have decades of experience practicing and teaching.

You could also see if you have a homeopath MD in your area ( usually they
just practice homeopathy.) And you should have a pediatric md also. I had
both, and in some cases with my kids when I took them to the homeopath -
he would try some remedies for severe acute issues and if not working well , he
would advise that I go over to the pediatrician to handle it asap when needed.

Simone, I actually got in touch with Lia Bello for a urinary issue for my son. I really liked her. And i believe the remedy she suggested is working for him. His urinary issue is about gond. I was just hoping to find a homeopath that accepts insurance (MD). Since my kids probably need a more in depth case to be done, I do not have the extra $300 a piece for that right now, but I desperately want to help them heal.
I'm the kind of person who does everything myself. If I don't know how, I learn. Right now I just want to learn homeopathy myself! Though I know it would take years.

Evocationer, why do you think vaccines are so bad? Just for my own knowledge. Isn't it just allowing the vital force to become immune to the disease. I'm just trying to understand.

HI-

I have never come across a homeo MD who takes
insurance- bc you want a homeo MD who just does
homeopathy and insurance does not cover that.

But if you saw a homeo md and you just had the bill
with MD on it, and consult for ( they would list the
problem for insurance) then you could submit the
bill to the insurance if you have a PPO that lets you
do out of network. The same thing goes on with
therapists and psychiatrists( most do not take or want
to hassle with insurance and they give you the bill and
you submit it yourself.)

I see. Is there a way I can find one of these homeo MDs in my area?

bwill13 9 years ago
Oh one last thing. What kind of alcohol would I use in my dosing bottle?

bwill13 9 years ago
bwill- let me know your area and I can
search thru lists I have to see if there
are any.

Alcohol- use vodka, or brandy.

Where to start with the issue of vaccinations....

1. Vaccines are FULL of dangerous chemicals/metals like mercury, aluminium, formaldehyde, preservatives, stabalizers, antibiotics as well as viral particles, dead bacteria, bacterial wastes/poisons.

2. All of those components are injected directly into the blood, which would almost NEVER happen in nature, and usually means serious harm if it does happen.

3. Live virus vaccines contain LIVING pathogens, again injected into the blood, past almost every defence the person has, straight to the most vulnerable part (blood/organs).

4. Vaccinated children still present with the diseases they were vaccinated for, sometimes in WORSE forms than you would normally see ie. atypical measles, atypical chicken pox, and something we are seeing a fair bit here in Australia is atypical pertussis.

5. Vaccinated persons can pass the disease on to unvaccinated or vulnerable people. This is seen prominently with Polio now where many cases (called Satellite polio) are passed on through vaccinated individuals.

6. Vaccination is such a huge insult to the immune system, that it actually makes someone more vulnerable to other things. By taking away so much energy normally used to protect the person, a whole variety of other problems will crop up - asthma, eczema, epilepsy, immune disorders like lupus, behaviour and cognitive disorders - and many more.

I am in Indiana. I can tell you that there are a few competant Homeopaths that are not quite 'on the grid' so to speak. Going to your local health food/supplement store and asking around may yeild some surprising answers when it comes to finding a Homeopath.

I practice myself. Whereas I hold no official title I am always happy to assist any who ask when it comes to recommendations.

Thank you for that Evocationer. I find myself in a difficult position because my husband is very provaccine. Whereas I am more open to them not getting them. I'm trying to research both sides and find truth for my kids sake. I know he will be difficult to change his mind.

Realittphantom, where in Indiana are you located? I am in the NW area. Anyone you know of close to there? I actually was referred to the new Dr I spoke about in the beginning of this thread at the natural food store.

Bwill,

My opinion is for constitutional treatment
of your children, find someone who
is practicing for at least 6 years, and
is only doing homeopathy.

I have seen tons of bad prescriptions and
wrong dosing, on here from naturopaths,
who had minimal homeopathic education,
and other health professionals same thing.

Those people end up on here and have
to be fixed-you cannot compare the
knowledge of someone like Lia Bello
who has done this for 25 years with
someone the health food store suggests, and in the vac. area there is
a huge amount of wrong info out there about homeopathic sets of
protocols ( wrong!) and people not prescribing like Hahnemann, one
remedy at a time in the smallest dose-you have to know the homeopathic
education of the person, and their homeopathic philosophy in order to
make an educated choice.

simone717 9 years ago
OK I will use lia bello. I'll just have to find the money. Thanks so much.
