Stomach Aches

I have been plagued with stomach aches for years. They typically start about 4-5 hours after eating and are a gnawing pain just below my rib cage. There are some foods that are more likely to cause a stomach ache, mainly fatty foods like French fries, fatty meats, etc, but not limited to these or foods that seem particularly fatty. I have eaten some of these food items several times, and only some of the time get a stomach ache from it. I have had ultrasounds, colonoscopy, endoscopy and upper GI, and none identified a possible cause. The only unusual finding was that an ultrasound of my gall bladder found the walls to be thickened, uniformly, so no suspicion of cancer and no signs of gallstones. My gastroenterologist wants me to take two months of prilosec and see if that brings an end to the stomach aches, and if not, consider having my gall bladder removed. I have a phobia about taking pharmaceuticals, so am thinking of returning to my homeopathist who about a year ago prescribed graphites (one does of 6 pellets), which seemed to somewhat lessen the pain but also seemed to greatly aggravate an existing case of eczema on my hands. Do you have any ideas or suggestions?

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
any other complaints?

Not really, although almost anytime I eat a meal that is heavier than a salad, I get very tired and crash. My gastro doctor checked for Celiac disease so it's not that.

I believe that you are suffering from Hyperacidity and if so the remedy is Nat Phos 6x (biochemic) dose 2 tablets taken after lunch and dinner.

You are advised to eat small meals and avoid all fatty foods.

If you experience pain in your stomach prior to a meal this can be a symptom of the stomach acid eating into the mucus layer in your stomach and you may have to keep your stomach busy and prevent it from attack from the acid by eating a biscuit or a banana in between meals.

Prilosec inhibits the production of acid while the Nat Phos will change the chemical balance in the stomach and accelerate the passage of food into the gut thereby preventing the production of acid which is responsible for the hyperacidity and subsequent pain that you experience.

I shall deal with the Eczema in your hands after you report your response on the Nat Phos 6x.

I appreciate all the suggestions. A little more info... I have never experienced any problems prior to a meal, only after meals. I think my gastro doctor prescribed Prilosec for lack of any better ideas. My upper GI showed no signs of GERD.
Also, I forgot about and maybe should mention even though it is going in a different direction but may be helpful, is that I get numbness in my hands when sleeping, and in cold weather my fingers get painfully cold almost like Raynaud's disease although not that severe. This problem as well as the eczema are much lesser concerns than the stomach aches.
Thanks!

Why don't you take the Nat Phos 6x as advised and then report response in 2 days ?

I feel confident that it should work but if it does not we can think of another remedy.

We can handle your problem with your hands later.

I've been taking the Nat Phos 6x for several days with no adverse effects. It's much too soon to know if it actually will help with the stomach aches since I may just not have eaten something that would have caused one. Is this something that I can take indefinitely?

I was rather intrigued by yous statement:

"I've been taking the Nat Phos 6x for several days with no adverse effects."

Did the Nat Phos I prescribed help you to overcome your chronic stomach aches which you have been suffering for years and for which you had been using Prilosec ?

You also stated in your first post:

"I have had ultrasounds, colonoscopy, endoscopy and upper GI, and none identified a possible cause."

And now you state after using Nat Phos 6x for a week that:

"It's much too soon to know if it actually will help with the stomach aches since I may just not have eaten something that would have caused one."

I presume that your comments which can be interpreted to mean that you are now rid of your chronic stomach disorder from which you suffered for many years is now cured but that you did not wish to acknowledge this fact on this forum, perhaps because you had received the prescription to help your chronic problem free of charge, when all other efforts on your part to obtain relief failed in spite of all the money that you would have expended for all those tests and the drugs that you have used throughout these past years.

It is not that I wish to be compensated in any way by you, but I believe that you owe me and this forum this basic information as to whether or not you had any relief from your chronic ailment after you used Nat Phos 6x.

I reported back as you requested after taking the Nat Phos 6X for two days. What you are interpreting is not at all my intention. I meant what I said which is that
"It's much too soon to know if it actually will help with the stomach aches since I may just not have eaten something that would have caused one." I have had stomach aches for years but they occur infrequently once or twice a month at the most presumably after eating something that triggers them which I have not been able to definitively identify. So just because I have not experienced a stomach ache in the last few days does not by any means mean that the Nat Phos 6x has had any effect. I also try to avoid foods that seem to have caused one in the past. It will take a while before I can say that Nat Phos 6X is helping or not. That is why I asked if it is something that I can take indefinitely.
Also, just for the record, I haven't had to spend any money on the tests performed. My insurance covers them completely.

You can take up your problems with someone else as I shall not be showing any interest in your case in the future.

It is people like you who do not deserve the time that I and others spend in our efforts to help suffering humanity.

I believe that your attitude is symptomatic of the gratitude that is shown in your country which I presume is the US.

I have only wasted my time in trying to help you up to now which I did with all good intentions as I have done in so many thousands of cases of people who posted on the forums.

It occurs to me that the name you have chosen ZIGZAG gives an insight into your devious character.

I shall not respond to your posts if any in future.

Your post begs a response. I originally posted to this site because I thought the purpose of the site was to help people, and that others reading the posts may be able to help themselves. What I posted was an honest and accurate description of my situation. You obviosuly did not even read very carefully what I did post. I said that "only some of the time get a stomach ache", which means that I cannot assess the treatment based on two days of use. Also, I never said that I actually took prilosec, just that my doctor wanted me to. And you jumped to the false conclusion that I have spent a lot of money trying to cure my problem when in fact I have actually not spent a dime since my employer-paid insurance has paid for everything except the Nat Phos 6X.
You seem intent on twisting what I posted to suggest that I have a devious agenda even to the point of reading something deceitful in to my user name! You seem to have an innate distrust of people which makes me wonder why you are invovled in this site at all and also makes me very leery of any advise you've given to anyone on this site.
I truly hope that something occurs in your life so that you come to a more positive attitude and see that most people are honest and trustworthy.
