hi dr :

i have an issue with my 3 year old .
this are the symptoms :

tendecy to get constipated.
fights a lot with everybody .
she has a lot of tantrums.
screams a lot during night time usually around 12 am and 5 and 6 am .
always says she has pain in her abdomen.
takes for ever to eat.
smells everything.
fights to eat she likes nothing .
love sweets.
smelly feet.
very stubborn, she loves a present and then wants to destroy it.
does not want to use the potty at all.

some months ago she was really bad stummering, something that never happened before.
she was given a wet dose of stramonium 200c , the following day it was gone, she did great in several issues for some days.
also used the potty by herself and that was amazing.
after a month a dose of stramonium 30 c was given, she got improvement in some things but i would like to know if you agree with these.

that option it was a good one, i would like to know if you suggest other remedy , or another dose , since like i said i did see some improvements right away, they dont last that much .

she also took suggested by someone here in the forum kali phos 6x but i saw no difference.

thank you .

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Interesting - she appears a lot like her brother doesn't she? This suggests a common miasm - which might help me sort his stubborn symptoms out as well. Prescribing for several members of a family can help unearth certain genetic patterns which can be useful.

Can you do the child questionnaire for me for her as well? Just to make sure I am not missing anything important.

Describe each physical complaint/associated set of symptoms in detail. Please include the following when doing this:

1. Appearance
2. Sensation or pain
3. Situations/events/triggers for making it worse
4. Situations/events/triggers for making it better
5. Event that seemed to start the complaint
6. Other sensory features – smell, sound, taste, tactile etc – of the symptom

Make sure each complaint is done separately. Do not group them together. This is for physical complaints/diseases rather than mental or emotional problems.

Symptoms may be divided into two categories:

1. Symptoms which they more or less have all the time
2. Symptoms which appear as ‘acute’ things but have appeared more than once

Make sure you clearing define these constant symptoms from the periodic ones.

MENTAL STATE OF THE CHILD (IMPORTANT)

1. When the physical complaint is active, what is his/her emotional state like? What does he/she do? What does she/he want you to do?

2. Does he/she describe any unusual sensation or pain in the body, especially when they are complaining of something?

3. What fears does he/she have? How does she/he react?

4. Was there any incident in the past that had a great impact? What happened at the time? Is there any ongoing reaction to this event? How does he/she talk about it?

5. Is there any story (book, fairytale, cartoon, movie etc) that seems to really resonate with her/him? What does he/she say about it?

6. What kind of fantasies does she/he describe to you? How does this translate down into play, games, toys? Does he/she tend to draw particular things over and over? If so what are they? If you point to these images, what does she/he say about them?

7. Does he/she describe any dreams or nightmares to you, and what are they? How does she/he react on waking from them?

8. How is he/she when interacting with other children? What about sports or games? How about obeying rules or social conventions?

9. How is she/he when interacting with older people? Is there any difference between family or friends and strangers in terms of reactions and behavior?

10. What kind of activities does he/she enjoy doing? Which of these do she/he spend the most time at?

11. What qualities seem to make your child different from other children?

12. How does your child cope with school, school work, study, deadlines, speaking in front of others, following directions etc?

13. What kind of questions does he/she tend to ask you or other adults?

14. What makes her/him laugh? What makes him/her cry?

15. What makes him/her angry or irritable?

16. What does your child do when alone?

17. Is there a particular person or type of person that he/she reacts to, and what kind of reaction?

GENERAL STATE OF YOUR CHILD

1. What position does he/she sleep in?
2. Is there any position he/she seems unable to sleep in?
3. Any unusual behaviour during sleep?
4. Any problems with sleep?
5. What foods are craved (cravings are strong desires) What foods are hated?
6. What drinks are craved? What drinks are hated?
7. How does he/she react when hungry, or hunger is prolonged?
8. How does the weather affect?

11. Problems with stool or bowel habit?
Problems with urine or bladder habit?

Actually the remedy I would probably consider here is Staphysagria, with a possible Sulphur prescription underneath.

Staph 200c is what I would suggest, one dose, given in liquid form. 5 hits, 3 drops, 100mls, 2 teaspoons.

Evocationer 9 years ago
thank you so much .

i will give it to her, and let you know what happened .

take care .

love and peace 9 years ago
I rushed out the prescription for you because I have been somewhat busy at clinic today. But just so you know why I prescribed the remedy ...

I looked at the following rubrics for her:

Anger, throws things
Throwing things at people
Breaking things
Never hungry
Desires sweets

Something I found interesting was the symptom regarding wanting to smell everything. While I couldn't find this specifically, it is very similar to the Sulphur symptom of 'Compelled to touch everything'. Combined with the smelly feet I might expect Sulphur to appear later on. Of course we can never know this for sure, so we will see.

Evocationer 9 years ago
thank you so much for the explanation .

yes, the smelling thing is something that it grabs my attention , i dont know what is coming from but i heard a lot of parents complaining that their girls where doing the same thing , smelling everything they have around.
before touching she has to smell no matter what .
based on that she likes it or not .
i will give it to her today since i do have the remedy and let you know in a week or so .
thank you very much for your constant help .

dear dr :

the staphysagria 200 c was administer as you told me too like 15 days ago.
i have not seen any big improvements in any field.
she is still screaming at night, maybe she got better for like 2 days and that it was it.
still too many tantrums, fights with brother , drink a lot of water meanwhile eating .

should we repeat the remedy or try another one ?

also she has been stammering again not too much but noticeable at the beginning of the sentence .

thank you .

love and peace 9 years ago
First step is always to repeat. I probably would have repeated it after 7 days.

However, alter the dose in this way.

1. hit the bottle 10 times
2. place 4 drops in 100mls of water

otherwise keep all steps the same.

Let me know what happens after 3 days. We may repeat the remedy another once or twice before looking for another option.

dear dr :

the staphysagria was given to my daughter 3 days ago.
i cant tell anything really changing, she seems to be not to fight that much one thing that is getting worse is the stammering , she is getting worse to talk .
i dont know if this is an aggravation or actually she is getting worse.

maybe in a few days i can tell you more things.

thank you for your help.

Hmmm...I think perhaps we need to go back to Stramonium 200c. I think I committed the cardinal sin of not properly exploring a remedy that has worked.

Evocationer 9 years ago
dear dr :

thank you for your answer, what should i do ? wait some days before stramonium 200c?
should i use it the same way as staphysagria right?

thank you for your time and caring for your patients .

have a nice weekend.

love and peace 9 years ago
Use Stamonium now, but dose once in the same way you did the Staph.

Evocationer 9 years ago
dear dr :

thank you , i will do so .

dear dr :

the remedy was given to the little one a week ago.

the stammering is gone, the following days after the remedy she went potty by herself, wasnt arguing as usual.
slept better and eaten better.
after that , i think it was an aggravation like 4 days after the remedy, started having tantrums, screaming at night , does not want to go potty at all, fights with brother and us.

that is all for now , i will let you know in a few days how is she doing.

thank you.

love and peace 9 years ago
Improvement followed by aggravation? That isn't how the medicine should work for her.

Unless the remedy relapsed within a few days. That also means something is not quite right with the prescription. Has she been worse for the last 3 days then?

Evocationer 9 years ago
hi dr :

yes, in some aspects , she is worse.

thank you .

love and peace 9 years ago
Hmmm... that isn't what should happen on a curative remedy. Did this happen before on Stramonium?

Evocationer 9 years ago
hi dr :

yes , usually she was responding very well and then bad and then better again .
yes it was not as the response with her brother.

but the remedy resolved the stammering right away .

thank you .

love and peace 9 years ago
Does that mean she got better after the aggravation? If so then we should wait and see how things go.

Evocationer 9 years ago
hi dr :

yes, she usually was getting better after getting worse, it goes like this, very well after the remedy , then some areas worse, and then a little better but not as much as right after the remedy .

thank you , i will let you know in a few days how she is doing.

love and peace 9 years ago
hi dr :

she is doing bad again, complain about pain in her tummy, craves pasta, screams several times at night .
fights with brother, and with us .
drinks a lot of water meanwhile eating .

should i repeat stahpysagria ?

thank you .

love and peace 9 years ago
Was there improvement all this time?

Evocationer 9 years ago
hi dr :

i saw improvement with staphysagria but not much, she didnt fight as much and didnt want to break the toys but not something remarkable .
right now, she is at peak with all the issues, negative , a lot of tantrums, does the opposite, fights for the potty , doesnt want to get her hair washed , i mean every thing is ending in a fight .

i saw improvement with stramonium but as you said she does very well right after and then got worse and then better , and that is not how is supposed to work.

i got a little lost with her , with her brother i see things more clear .

please, guide me when you can.

thank you.
