Schizophrenia - Attn: Dr. Asad Ghumman, Rishimba or Evocationer

Dear Doctor Asad,Rishimba or
Evocationer

I need your help. My brother, aged 63, has been diagnosed with Schizophrenia about 30 years ago and is under Allopathic treatment since and was given electric shock treatment 30 years ago.
For last 10 years, he was on Clozaril but now his white blood cells went dangerously low so Clozaril was stopped and some other medicine is given but he can not sleep now, and is restless.
He is at home under mother's care, is very demanding from her who does her best for him. But he has no respect for her and bad mouths her whenever he gets angry on trifles.
1. likes to eat meat (no veg or daal), chocolates.
2. Very religious and says 5 times prayers.
3. His urine dribbles so for one namaz he refreshes wazoo several times. We told him its not necessary but does not listen.
4. Likes to smoke and drink tea all the time he is awake.
5. When on Clozaril, he could go to sleep at night. Since Clozaril was stopped, he can't sleep and is very agitated.
6. He is talking to himself. At times, it is as if he is talking to some one about past events, laughing and enjoying the conversation. Otherwise he is withdrawn and does not talk much.
7. Likes to read a lot religiously different kind of books in english and even consults dictionary for words when needed.
8. His neck muscles are not in his control and are stretched so that his head is held up and back. Also his finger are not straight.
9. He did B.A and worked for a little while and was good at work but then in an effort to find better job, he resigned but never found a better job since last 38 years.
10. He discusses things rationally and talks normal. There is no sign in his conversation that he has any mental problem. He used to be very outgoing active in politics during university years.
11. He has delusions like someone will do black magic on him.
12. Remembers all old events and when angry recounts them and abuses the elders involved at the time.

I am fed up with allo treatment and want to try Homeopathy.
Please ask questions if you need more info.

Appreciate your valued help,
thanks,

I don't know if Asad is still

if he does not reply to you-

use your edit button ( bottom

Evocationer to help you with
your brother.

I have had a look at the symptoms you have described, and this is what I would suggest.

I felt there was something unusual in this case which I translated into a rubric:

Dwells on the past, recalls old grievances

- alco, ars, bell, coloc, cupr, dig, glon, merc, oena, phos, rhus-g, sol-m, stram, sul-ac, verat

I then refined my search using these remedies via the following rubrics:

Abusive in anger
Abusive insulting
Religious insanity
Praying
Loquaicty,Talking to self
Desires tea
Ailments from loss of social position
Taciturn
Restless, sleepless, agitated

From this I would consider Veratrum album in the potency LM1 (0/1). This potency would be necessary for daily dosing to overcome the orthodox medication he is on. It is preferable to obtain it in the liquid form (oral dosing liquid).

If you instead have pillules or pellets, you will need a small bottle and a dropper to make your own liquid dose. Mix water and alcohol into this small bottle to the ratio of 5:1. Dissolve 3 pillules/pellets into this bottle. All doses will be made from this bottle.

If you already have a liquid dose just start from step 1.

1. Hit the bottle 5 times firmly against the palm of the hand

2. Place 3 drops into 100mls of clean fresh water

3. Stir very thoroughly

4. Take 2 teaspoons out into the mouth and hold for 20 seconds, then swallow.

This is one dose and the same steps should be taken for any further doses, unless I ask you to change them in some way.

If any old symptoms reappear, or any current symptoms worsen, this is a GOOD sign in most cases. DO NOT SUPPRESS them with other kinds of medication unless you are in real danger (which is a highly unlikely reaction to a remedy).

However, if you are on regular medication it is also important that you do NOT stop taking this. Once it is determined the medicine has acted beneficially, we can look at reducing such medication if safe to do so. Regular medication in this instance is NOT defined as other homoeopathic medicines which MUST be stopped.

I would suggest one dose each day for 7 days and then report the response.

You can try Lachesis if Verat doesn't show much response.

Thank you Dr. If I am able to find Vert LM1 in liquid form, then how many drops of it to take and how?
Also what is in parenthesis in LM1 (0/1)?

Also, Dr. Rishimba: Do you suggest the same potency for Lachesis as well?

No, we will decide on the potency based on the last LM potency you give to the patient.

0/1 means the same as LM1.

Follow the instructions I gave in the previous post.

Lachesis is a good idea and came up in my analysis also. I differentiated on what seemed to be the causative factor - the loss of social position, for which Veratrum is more suited. However Lachesis is undoubtedly a differential remedy here.

Dr Evocationer, Thank you very much for the advice. I want to clarify. If I find Verat Alb LM1 in liquid form then as you suggested I will add 3 drops to 100 ml of water then take 2 tsp. Question is what will I do with the rest of the 100ml water in which I mixed 3 drops of medicine??
Can I take next dose from it? or throw it?

You throw it out, then use fresh clean water for the next dose.

I do appreciate your time and valuable advice, however, the patient does not want to take homeopathic medicine and all efforts to convince him failed. Could this medicine be used in pellets and be administered in water without his knowledge. I am sure once he sees improvement, he will get convinced.

Unfortunately this would unethical, and I couldn't proceed managing a case without permission being gained from the patient. In fact if they have definitely said no, I would not treat them at all.
