residual cough

How do you cure or alleviate a residual cough that won't go away after getting over a cold? Coughing nothing up.
Thanks for your help!

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Symptoms need to be given, the whole case examined. That is how homoeopathy works. Even if you don't realise it, there will be a variety of signs and pointers to a specific remedy, scattered throughout the different levels of your health. We need to find those signs before a curative remedy can be given.

Okay, what additional info do you need?
I can tell you the diagnosis was RSV which has resolved into the residual cough. The cough occurs intermittently and can occur at any time throughout the day or night. It can occur at night but does not occur when fast asleep. The cough can occur when sitting or lying down but is worse when lying down. Nothing comes up when coughing.
the cough is exhausting. There is no fever or chills.
The person who is suffering from the cough also has back and abdominal pain. The cough does not make these pains worse. She is on fentanyl patch for pain management.
Let me know what else you need to know.
Thanks!
