Kind attn Dr. Evocationer could you kindly take up the case of my child

After giving her more than 20 days of homeopathic remedies my daughter is still wheezing. I have decided to give it whatever time and effort it takes to cure her within and out. I am willing to answer your questionnaire.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Describe each physical complaint/associated set of symptoms in detail. Please include the following when doing this:

1. Appearance
2. Sensation or pain
3. Situations/events/triggers for making it worse
4. Situations/events/triggers for making it better
5. Event that seemed to start the complaint
6. Other sensory features – smell, sound, taste, tactile etc – of the symptom

Make sure each complaint is done separately. Do not group them together. This is for physical complaints/diseases rather than mental or emotional problems.

Symptoms may be divided into three categories:

1. Symptoms which they more or less have all the time
2. Symptoms which appear as ‘acute’ things but have appeared more than once
3. Symptoms which have appeared for the first time.

Make sure you clearly divide the symptoms into these three groups.

MENTAL STATE OF THE CHILD (IMPORTANT)

1. When the physical complaint is active, what is his/her emotional state like? What does he/she do? What does she/he want you to do?

2. Does he/she describe any unusual sensation or pain in the body, especially when they are complaining of something?

3. What fears does he/she have? How does she/he react?

4. Was there any incident in the past that had a great impact? What happened at the time? Is there any ongoing reaction to this event? How does he/she talk about it?

5. Is there any story (book, fairytale, cartoon, movie etc) that seems to really resonate with her/him? What does he/she say about it?

6. What kind of fantasies does she/he describe to you? How does this translate down into play, games, toys? Does he/she tend to draw particular things over and over? If so what are they? If you point to these images, what does she/he say about them?

7. Does he/she describe any dreams or nightmares to you, and what are they? How does she/he react on waking from them?

8. How is he/she when interacting with other children? What about sports or games? How about obeying rules or social conventions?

9. How is she/he when interacting with older people? Is there any difference between family or friends and strangers in terms of reactions and behavior?

10. What kind of activities does he/she enjoy doing? Which of these do she/he spend the most time at?

11. What qualities seem to make your child different from other children?

12. How does your child cope with school, school work, study, deadlines, speaking in front of others, following directions etc?

13. What kind of questions does he/she tend to ask you or other adults?

14. What makes her/him laugh? What makes him/her cry?

15. What makes him/her angry or irritable?

16. What does your child do when alone?

17. Is there a particular person or type of person that he/she reacts to, and what kind of reaction?

GENERAL STATE OF YOUR CHILD

1. What position does he/she sleep in?
2. Is there any position he/she seems unable to sleep in?
3. Any unusual behaviour during sleep?
4. Any problems with sleep?
5. What foods are craved (cravings are strong desires) What foods are hated?
6. What drinks are craved? What drinks are hated?
7. How does he/she react when hungry, or hunger is prolonged?
8. How does the weather affect?
9. How does the temperature affect?
10. Are there any other environmental influences negative or positive (season, noise, music, moon, light, dark, day, night, time, smells etc.)
11. Problems with stool or bowel habit?
Problems with urine or bladder habit?
12. Where does he/she sweat most? Does it stain or smell unusual?
13. Has she/he reacted to any medical treatment in the past in a strong or negative way?

PREGNANCY AND BIRTH

1. What kind of health problems occurred while you were pregnant with your child?

2. Were there any other stresses or traumas that occurred?

3. Did the birth itself have any problems?

4. Do you remember if any symptoms occurred suddenly during pregnancy that then vanished after your child was born? Especially important are any emotional or mental changes during this time.

Thank you very much for the quick response.

A little bit of history.

From the starting of November on wards during halloween party she was exposed to cold. From then on till now she has had frequent colds and cough. After recovering from them she always had dry remnant cough. She used to cough at least once a day. On december 5th friday she complained of nausea just when I started feeding her dinner and within a matter of 30 minutes her temperature rose to 102. Administered tylenol(fever rreducer to help her sleep). saturday morning and night she did okay no tylenol nor fever. Sunday dec 7th didnt have proper apetite for breakfast. While I started feeding her lunch she complained of nausea then again fever administered tylenol. By Monday morning she was okay but her remnant cough got very wet which I could hear.

This repeated on 10th of february tuesday. This happened once same when I was feeding dinner now we knew that it was the post nasal drip that is stuck in her throat and then she has chills and etremeties went cold and developed fever which she recovered.

on December 16th we went to the doctor to talk about her weight - she had not gained any weight since one an a half year though she grew tall. right now height 97 percentile, weight is 89 percentile. Next day she seemed lethargic by afternoon she developed fever and was down with cough and cold and high fever and low grade fever. from the 17th dec she recovered from this completely by 3rd of Jan. Nasal discharge went from clear to opaque many times before clearing out.

Jan 5th we had followup appointment where it was found if she ate high calorie she shows weight gain. That day we talked about her cough not seeming to go away the doc said she is wheezing and prescribed azythromycin and Broncho dilator puffer. Because she had the flu and her frequent colds we got her the flu shot on that day dont feel right about it. By afternoon on jan 5th she developed fever then cough and cold. She recovered from this by Jan 15th and slight wheezing was there. She had another cold this time without fever it lasted till Feb 5th for this cold and cough she was still wheezing She was administered Antimonium Tartaricum and Arsenic album. started giving her on Jan 30 by feb 3rd her cold went away but still had cough and wheezing. Mouth breathing and Nasal congestion Still there. Then she is on Kali mur 6c 3 pills 4 times daily since past 8 days and since past two days rhus tox 30c.

Wheezing improved but still wheezes on and off she is still on medication Kali Mur 6c. post nasal drip has improved we are doing saline drops as well.

mouth breathing at night is still present.

I will be giving answers to the questionnaire shortly.

thanks once again.

1. Appearance

Occasional coughing which is mostly dry and need to clear throat. Wheezing noticed at least once daily.

Post nasal drip which is better now. But still is present. Mouth breathing while asleep.

Dental plaque and I fear she may have pocket were about to see a dentist.

Almost every day her head sweats during night and afternoon naps.

Whole body including head sweats during sleep. But always more in the head.

Found one hair turning grey at the root.

2. Sensation or pain

None

3. Situations/events/triggers for making it worse

Being very upsets worsens wheezing. She coughs when she's very upset and crying.Exposure to cold air plus she was tired and skipped her nap. It's 22 F before going out she was not wheezing but after coming back she was wheezing.
It gets okay after spending some time indoors. The wheezing sound is mostly while taking deep breaths while exhaling. She coughs sometimes while attempting to breath a lot of air in.

While checking if sound appears once or twice on the deep breaths but disappears. I'm guessing she might still have some congestion.

Hunger also aggravates it. Having milk first thing in the morning gets phlegm in her throat. Not sure but I think it's snot or post nasal drip.

I'm still giving her kali mur and rhus tox.

4. Situations/events/triggers for making it better

Resting and sleeping makes it better.

I'm not really sure what else. Will observe more and let you know.

she says the ball medicines makes her feel better in every way! Clearly she loves little sugar balls.

5. Event that seemed to start the complaint

She was detected by doctor after she had recovered from high fever cold and cough. She was found to be wheezing and was prescribed azithromycin for pnuemonia. She continued to have low fever while still on azithromycin .

Also after episodes of cough stuck in her throat and unable to clear it. She complains of nausea and develops fever of about 102.8. Through which she recovers. After which cough gets productive without any cold symptom.

Some amount of nasal congestion always there I guess.

6. Other sensory features – smell, sound, taste, tactile etc – of the symptom

After administering saline spray initially had bad taste coming into mouth. But from past two days it's okay.

In case she tries hard to cough she feels as though she needs to pee even though she don't have any that was when she was coughing a lot and had difficulty breathing and cough at night. She don't have that now. Sleeps well.

MENTAL STATE OF THE CHILD (IMPORTANT)

1. When the physical complaint is active, what is his/her emotional state like? What does he/she do? What does she/he want you to do?

She's okay and plays and is busy playing. That's usually when she has the normal cold and cough. But last episode of the flu and the next bout of high fever got her in a cranky mood. Would not get up in the morning in a good mood probably coz disturbed sleep due to breathing problems. Blocked nose and congested chest.

These days she's good gets up in the morning happy and calm coz she's having good sleep.

2. Does he/she describe any unusual sensation or pain in the body, especially when they are complaining of something?

Occasional hardly one in 15 days stomach ache at the belly button which goes away. I give her warm liquids and it goes away.

3. What fears does he/she have? How does she/he react?

She's scared of shadows of objects
like chairs etc in the dark sometimes keeps her from sleeping. She does not tell me until I wake up and find out. Happened couple of times.

One time she was scared watching a aggressive dog chasing Martha and Helen in Martha speaks. Her palms and feet started sweating.

She's now watched tinker bell all adventurous things and loves it.

But I must mention here that probably I used to be hard on her when I occasionally lost out and did things like yelling and spanking. She will be difficult would not have breakfast , lunch or dinner or will not brush her teeth. Is late to school everyday. Get up late and insist on doing things on her own and wouldn't let us get her ready.Would not get ready for school. Resist her nap fall asleep in the evening and be late to bed. She's much better now on all these aspects handles emotions much better. I don't know if it's due to kali mur.

I haven't noticed her hands and feet sweating these days.

When she was three she was scared of the pretend ghost in curious George would not watch it alone. Also where the dragon wrecks the castle.

She seems handling okay now.

Very much terrified recently about vomiting. She says it's dangerous and panics. She used to panic when cough was caught in the gag reflex.
But now she has a big gulp of water and pushes it down.

She's so terrified of vomiting she stopped eating or drinking on road trips the moment she gets in the car.
This started when we travelled on up and down the hilly roads of Pennsylvania. She vomited twice on that route and from then on won't eat or drink during trips. She gets nausea.

She had a finger laceration when she turned 3 she was very terrified at the ER she wouldn't relax and was shaking continuously out of terror for her life. Tried diverting her asking her to look at the TV but didn't work. Then I tried to remind the lines in a book about penguins she said two lines and fell asleep. Then then surgeon stitched up her thumb.

For many months wouldn't want to eat beet root. Very scared at the sight of bit of blood. She's okay now.

4. Was there any incident in the past that had a great impact? What happened at the time? Is there any ongoing reaction to this event? How does he/she talk

Btw you must immediately stop giving her those two remedies. They will produce side effects and make cure much more difficult.

Evocationer 9 years ago
Ok stopped from now. She's coughing now and constantly clearing her throat. Now having dinner. I can hear her throat get hoarse and she's clearing it. Though she's not wheezing right now

baba108 9 years ago
Alright I have had a careful look at this case. I used the following symptoms to arrive at a remedy:

Perspiration on the head during sleep
Hair turns grey early
Frequent colds
Cough persists after a cold or acute
Breathing through mouth during sleep
Thin/skinny children
Ailments from vaccination
Weeping aggravates
Asthma with wheezing
Cold air aggravates
Fear of the dark
Sweating of the hands and feet
Anxiety and fear comes with sweating

This suggests a few remedies - Lyc, Sil, Ars, Thuj, Sep, Nux-v - but I believe the look of the case is Silicea.

Can you obtain Silicea 200c, preferably in liquid form.

If you instead have pillules or pellets, you will need a small bottle and a dropper to make your own liquid dose. Mix water and alcohol into this small bottle to the ratio of 5:1. Dissolve 3 pillules/pellets into this bottle. All doses will be made from this bottle.

If you already have a liquid dose just start from step 1.

1. Hit the bottle 5 times firmly against the palm of the hand

2. Place 3 drops into 100mls of clean fresh water

3. Stir very thoroughly

4. Take 2 teaspoons out into the mouth and hold for 20 seconds, then swallow.

This is one dose and the same steps should be taken for any further doses, unless I ask you to change them in some way.

If any old symptoms reappear, or any current symptoms worsen, this is a GOOD sign in most cases. DO NOT SUPPRESS them with other kinds of medication unless you are in real danger (which is a highly unlikely reaction to a remedy).

However, if you are on regular medication it is also important that you do NOT stop taking this. Once it is determined the medicine has acted beneficially, we can look at reducing such medication if safe to do so. Regular medication in this instance is NOT defined as other homoeopathic medicines which MUST be stopped.

Give her ONE dose only to begin with, and let me know what has occurred after a week.

Evocationer 9 years ago
Thank you for going through the case.

I will have to order it online it will take couple of days. I think I will try 200c pellets form from health food stores.

How can I get alcohol which is used for mixing homeo meds. Any glass bottle cleaned with boiling water would do?

Sorry for asking such stupid questions.

Thank very much and grateful for help

Make sure the manufacturer of the medicine is a reputable one.

Alcohol can be any kind of spirit - brandy is what I typically use, and children rarely complain about the taste (although it is a tiny amount they even get once it is mixed up). I have used vodka, whiskey, and rum in the past.

Make sure the bottle has a cap on or a dropper, so that when you hit it nothing spills out. Boiling and thoroughly cleaning the bottle is fine if you need to reuse a bottle. Try to dry it in the sun if possible.

If a patient requires medication and takes it regularly, stopping suddenly can put their health at risk, and at the very least can cause their symptoms to suddenly erupt. This makes it hard to see what is being caused by the remedy and what is caused by withdrawal from the other medication.

Homoeopathy requires that only one potentized medicine be used at one time. Mixing them together can cause strange things to happen, and not usually good things!

I gave her kali mur 6c. 3 pills for about 9 days now. I have stopped giving rhus tox. As per you advise won't be giving her these any more from now.

Now I understand that you are saying there may be adverse effects due to stopping these and it may be risky. I am worried. I can only pray.

Please advise is it good to wait a couple of days before I start silicae?

I looked up on abc homeopathy hylands has it in liquid form. It's near by in comes from Philadelphia . But they don't have dropper. Can try for dropper at whole foods or cvs.

Is hylands okay?
Is hy

baba108 9 years ago
Ordered it from Hylands in liquid form. Will take about 3 to 4 days.

Saw online can get dropper from CVS.

Thank you very much.

Best regards

There won't be adverse effects from stopping one of our medicines. There is nothing in them to cause dependence and result in withdrawal. I am talking about medicines with some kind of drug in them. The real offenders are things like steroids, anti-inflammatories, hormones, painkillers, bronchodilaters and so on.

The 3-4 day wait for the remedy will be enough pause between the Kali-mur and the Silicea.

I tried to keep the broncho dilator use to the minimum. Was very skeptical of using it the doctor kept on pushing. I though it not right coz it would own up the lungs to pathogens its resisting.
I know what homeopathy can do as a child I was used to take homeopathy treatment for fever cold and flu etc and was cured of jaundice in just 10 days. Resumed my regular diet of fats etc in a week with no issues at all.

I stopped giving her Kali Mur since yday. Today morning woke up in a bad mood. Back to her usual self crying and shouting if I'm not around her when she wakes up. This was a regular thing earlier. She used to do this even before October on and off but stopped I don't remember after using homeo medicines? Or just coincidence not sure.

Today it was 9f outside she was outside for about 3 minutes. Planning to expose her to the cold and see how she does. With proper gear on. She has not wheezed yet but tried to cough with no cough at all about 5 times since morning. It's about 5.00 pm now.

Thank you so much for time going through.

Best regards

Also I had a question. I use fever reducers very sparingly on my child. What is your opinion on Tylenol which has acetaminophen I give it to her if she has fever of about 102 oral. Please advise generally what is ideal things to do. Ice packs on head to bring down fever to about 100? I remember my mom doing this.

baba108 9 years ago
Wheezing appeared after crying and being angry. Actually she pushed me into the refigerator. Sometimes I handle this well.I was calm but I reacted and she got two spanks. But then we made up and she finished milk. after about 10 minutes after that I heard loud wheezing sounds in her chest more on the right side. And then she complained about having problem coughing.

It occurred to me water relaxes and is a stress reliever. I gave her a big glass of water she complied and had it. wheezing was gone completely in 10 minutes.

When she stared drinking water she was worried that she will vomit. because it got in her throat. I also gave nasal spray. persisted with the water in about less than 10 minutes the loud whistling sound was completely gone.

It could be either the crying or scare and being startled and being sad at the same time.

I still need to observe how she does after getting exposed to cold.

I will update further.

best regards

baba108 9 years ago
Gave her the remedy. Thought I remembered the steps we'll but got a bit distracted. Not sure if I stirred it thoroughly enough. Will update after a week. She's wheezing and getting okay after a while fluids are helping.

But wheezing is quite loud.

baba108 9 years ago
Dear Dr. Evocationer,

Here's an update after 7 days of giving her one dose of Silicea 200c.
Due to my kid being difficult at the time I was worried about doing right. I remember giving a bit of a stir but not sure of stirring it thoroughly.

My daughter has not wheezed since the past four days. Initially she had some productive cough which is continuing now also. Her inside of the cheek felt dry once. Sweats still in sleep. She has dreams sometimes which make her sweat. Other times she sweats as soon as she is drifting into sleep. She still has phlegm getting into her throat.

She is much easier and compliant in happy spirits now. Handles emotionally well when when asked to be good.

My experience is that she sweats in her head more often when she is sick and soon once she is better shows quick signs of plumpiness in her cheeks etc which is not happening.

Kindly advise further.

Sincerely

Dr. Evocationer,

I would like to add a couple of points I forgot.

She could have some gastric reflux. And everyday in the morning when having breakfast she has a very brief tummy ache. Near her belly button.
This happened consistently for 4 days now.

Her skin color is pale and depressions under eyes which appeared during her cold illness have not gone away completely even though she eats well.

She takes longer to finish her food though.

Grateful for the help

Sincerely

Ok this is a good result from the first dose. What we normally expect is for the person to be better in themselves as well as physical symptoms improving. You may only see the emotional/mental improvement at first, but it is good to see the physical improvement already beginning.

I would continue waiting for the moment. Give me another update in a week.

Evocationer 9 years ago
Dear Dr.

Sure would wait and then update you. Just wanted to let you know that she was out in cold about a short walk to car in parking lots about four times last Saturday it was in the 20s Fahrenheit but she did okay.

We used to administer saline nasal spray with only sodium chloride and soda bicarbonate in it. Accidentally we bought saline spray which looked the same but my kid remarked that it tasted bad. It contained Luffa Operculata 6X HPUS and Sabadilla 6X HPUS it read. Feel bad about using it twice without reading. Just thought it important to bring it to your notice.

We did not use it. And we stopped any nasal spray for about 5-6 days now. Today after her nap while drinking water her cough was stuck in throat. I gave her the nasal spray from the old bottle without homeo meds. She said initial clearing of the nose tasted bad like her early days of sinus and fever but quickly went away and cleared.

One more additional information I wanted to provide that she had mild - very mild itchiness and minor redness and very minor rash here and there which seems okay. And
almost gone.

She has developed recently a hard corn kind of thing with pointed tip on the under side sole of her left big toe.

Not regularly but occasionally wet her soles of her feet saying they are hot and need to cool off.

Just wanted to record these for future reference.

Thanks a lot for guidance. Thank you.

Gratefully

Definitely don't use anything with homoeopathic remedies in it. This can cause a huge problem while treatment is underway. But it seems you caught it quickly enough to not do any real harm.

Dear dr. Evocationer,

Here's an update on my daughters Heath.

1. I feel a lot of good energy and that being difficult factor is 90% better.Shes making more friends at school. Enjoying more. Gets ready to school in no time. Is not difficult even if she slept late the previous night. Thank you made my life better. I was going into depression.

2. She still coughs everyday which is dry and soon gets productive and clears through her throat. This happens Atleast once some times 2 to 3 times. Each one might last an hour. Rest of the day she's fine. Wheezing is absent or very mild that goes away after coughing I guess.
She's been out in the cold 45 F played in the snow with thin coat not zipped up and thin cotton leggings. She was out more than an hour yesterday and did okay. Coughed a little she coughs daily anyway didn't make difference. Rarely coughs in sleep.

3. She still sweats a lot in the head. Sometimes less but mostly a lot. When she sweats less its on the forehead.

4. Mostly still sleeps with her mouth open. Does not complain of dry mouth in the morning. At times palms of hand lack softness but most of the time like her palms used to be baby soft.

5.Today at bedtime she was joking and laughed a lot and tried to gasp for breath then coughed and after that her nose got blocked. Gave nasal spray but didn't put too much. Nose is still blocked. My husband says she sneezed long before 2 times. Now she's asleep with mouth wide open and a feeble snore kind of thing with breathing. These days she sleeps with closed mouth then mouth parts a wee bit. Sometimes a wee bit more.

6.Her eating is 95% better. She doesn't resist food like she used to.
I don't force like I used to earlier. I Alaska her if she wants more she says yes. When I tell she don't need to finish she says no I want to eat all of it.

Eating on her own 50% better.
Don't like cleaning herself in the toilet. Makes up reasons etc.

7.She does not seem pale anymore but still has depressions under eyes which developed due to past cold and breathing history. They do seem a little better than before.

8.Her left big toe developed a hard corn kind of thing. With a pointy tip and is hard. Is shaped like pimple with a tip on the palm side of the left big toe. It hurts if presses or passing finger across through it.

9. 2 days back she had a little bit of some ready made noodles the had 2 sips of water and panicked because her lower jaw was involuntarily shaking. This would have lasted about a minute. It was very worrying but it went away.

10. Her stomach invariably a aches in the morning about a brief 2 to 3 minutes and goes away but happens almost everyday. She doesn't have a bowel movement as soon as she wakes up. Only after she eats a heavy lunch or drinks lots of water.

Most grateful for reading through this overly detailed description of problems.

Sincere regards
