The ABC Homeopathy Forum

New case for Kadwa or Rishimba

Hello Kadwa and Rishimba,

I would greatly appreciate your help in determining my constitutional remedy. Please see the questionnaire below.

Thank you for your time and assistance!

Patient ID: DH-Homeopathy
Sex: Male
Age: 49

Please answer the following questions in a descriptive manner after careful analysis and recollection of previous experiences and happenings.

1. Describe your main suffering?
Since early childhood: Small bumps on back of arms, legs, front and back of torso. Appear to be very tiny white-heads. Temporarily disappear by being scratched off or removed with a loofa. Father has the same thing for as long as he can remember.

Since 2005: Dry eyes (Blepharitis), dry itchy ears, partial sinus congestion, dry skin on face.
Used to have oily skin all over body, now dry – especially my nose, face, and scalp. Skin appears slightly red on upper cheeks and nose (Rosacea).
Snoring more. Started wearing a nose strip across bridge of nose every night to help with breathing, and shifted to sleeping on my side (left or right) to stop snoring.

Since 2009: Scalp increased sensitivity to chlorine and any other chemicals. Pale/white build-up on scalp. Reduced all symptoms to manageable level by using shower filter (removes chlorine) and 100% organic shampoo and conditioner with no alcohol, sulfates, etc., otherwise scalp will dry out and itch. Scalp not oily any more.

Since 2010: Noticed hair loss on legs just below knees, both sides.

Since 2013:
Diagnosed with nasal staph infection (staph coag negative, large amount) for symptoms of dry eyes (Blepharitis), dry itchy ears, nasal irritation and congestion. Various antibiotics were prescribed with no success.

Tested positive for Lyme infection. Treatment prescribed was Doxycycline twice a day from October 2013 through August 2014. During that time period, dry eyes (Blepharitis)and ears backed off and were much less noticeable. Redness across cheeks and nose (Rosacea) was less.

Since 2014:
Polyp in right nostril. Hair loss on legs now worse. Hair loss now includes outside and down the front of both calves – only have hair on inside of calves.

2. What other physical sufferings do you have in your body?
Diagnosed with Grave’s disease at age 28. At age 30, doctor prescribed radioactive Iodine treatment to stop natural thyroid production. I have been on thyroid supplement ever since.

Seasonal pollen allergies – hay fever, sneezing, running nose, itching eyes. I used to get hay fever with asthma as a child.

3. What mental sufferings / feelings do you have associated with your physical sufferings?
Easily distracted. Trouble focusing for prolonged periods.
Anxiety prone
Fear of being watched at night
Fear of poverty – especially when I am older

4. What exactly do you feel when you are at your worst?
Very easily distracted. Trouble focusing for prolonged periods.
Anxious, interrupt people, very ‘mental’
Increased fear of being watched at night, fear of poverty – especially when I am older.

5. When did it all start? Can you connect it to any past event or disease?
In 2005 I had a bad flu virus that included both ears being infected. The ear infection was treated with antibiotics both orally and as ear drops. After treatment, the infection was gone, but my ears have never been the same – always dry.

In 2009 switched brand of thyroid medicine because I started having heart palpitations. This all happened around the same time as my scalp drying out.

In 2010, eye doctor prescribed a lifetime daily low dose of the antibiotic Doxycycline to treat swollen eye lids that had mucous and dry eyes (Blepharitis), and reduce redness in cheeks and across nose (Rosacea). It worked for everything, however, I did not want to remain on an antibiotic and stopped after 6 months. All symptoms returned.

6. Which time of the day you are worst?
Early morning.

7. What are the things which aggravate your suffering and which are those which ameliorate the same?
Dust and pollen aggravate symptoms. Being indoors in an air conditioned/filtered environment alleviates the irritation from the dust or pollen.

8. Do you think your sufferings have relation to any external stimuli (like, change of place) or any internal biological changes in the body, like, menses (in females)?
Not aware of any external stimuli, other than the various pollens and freshly mowed lawns in the Spring.

9. When do you feel better, during hot weather or cold weather, humid or dry weather?
I feel best in moderate, dry weather.

10. Describe your general mental set up? Are you Moody, Arrogant, Mild, Agreeable Changeable, Nervous, Suspicious, Easily offended, Quiet, Arguing, Irritating, Lazy etc.
Mild, agreeable, quiet, crave social interaction – can get depressed without it, a bit of a loaner most of the time in terms of eating meals alone most of the time.
I like my environment to be neat, tidy, well organized, want things a certain way.
I feel stressed, unable to relax in disorganized, cluttered environments.
I can be suspicious, and easily offended.

- How do you feel before or during a thunderstorm?
Exited, awake if during the night, energized.

- Do you like being consoled during your tough times?
If the person consoling me is calm and clear, yes.

- Are you sensitive to external stimuli like smell, noise, light etc?
Only when I am exhausted.

- Do you have any typical habit or gesture like nail biting, causeless
weeping, talking to one self etc?
None that I am aware of.

- How do you feel about your friends, family, your children and especially your husband / wife?
Mostly feel like I am running out of time for the personal connections I have, and to develop them deeper.

11. What are your fears and do you dream of any situation repeatedly?
Fear of being alone.
Also feel underlining desire to escape and be free from my life somehow. Re-occurring dream is of me riding my motorcycle, alone, zooming across open country.

12. What do you crave for in food items and what are your aversions?
Crave coffee, salty food mid-day, sweet food in the afternoons.
Aversion to plain raw tomatoes, liver.
Dairy allergy.

13. How is your thirst: Less, Normal or Excessive?
Normal.

14. How is your hunger: Less, Normal or Excessive?
Normal.

15. Is there any kind of food which your body can’t stand?
Dairy – by itself will give me an upset stomach.

16. Is your sweat normal or less or more? Where does it sweat more: Head, Trunk or Limbs?
I sweat easy when working hard physically, otherwise normal.
Primary sweat location is trunk and head.

17. How is your bowel movement and stool type?
Regular, multiple times per day, medium brown, larger/harder in morning, smaller/softer during the day.

18. How well do you sleep? Do you have a particular posture of sleeping?
I usually sleep well provided I keep my thoughts calm – otherwise I can drive my body awake with frustrating/negative thoughts. I typically sleep on either my left or right side.

19. Do you think you are able to satisfy your sexual desires in general?
No – wife has been sick for many years.

20. How do you think you are different from others, if at all?
One night stands were never an option, always wanted one special lady for a long term monogamous relationship.

21. What medications have been taken earlier by you to treat the diseases and do you have any particular symptom surfacing after the medication?
In 2010, eye doctor prescribed a lifetime daily low dose of the antibiotic Doxycycline to treat swollen eye lids that had mucous and dry eyes (Blepharitis), and reduce redness in cheeks and across nose (Rosacea). It worked for everything, however, I did not want to remain on an antibiotic and stopped after 6 months. All symptoms returned.

Also took Doxycycline for Lyme treatment during 2013. Again symptoms backed-off while on Doxycycline, then all symptoms returned after I stopped.

22. What major diseases are running in your family?
Thyroid disease: Low thyroid in grandmother, mother, and sisters (all on mom’s side), hyper-thyroid for me.

23. Describe, how do you look like? Describe your overall appearance
Caucasian. 5 foot 9.5 inches tall, 170 lbs. Muscular build. 30 inch inseam so long torso.
Brown hair, green eyes, long face, large head. Looking from above, my head is shaped more oval (European ancestry) rather than round (Asian ancestry).

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Your homeopathic constitution seems to be ARSENICUM ALBUM.

Choose potency on the type of ailment you want to address. Better start with a low potency as you have skin related problems as well.

Thank you Rishimba.

I am knew to homeopathy and would appreciate your advise on any food or beverages I need to avoid while taking the homeopathy, and for how long.

Thank you for your time and assistance.

You may start with 30C potency and take 3 doses on a single day, each dose 6 hours apart.

Watch for a week. Note down all changes in you. If there is absolutely no change, go for 200C the same way.

Otherwise, if you notice changes in you with 30C potency, wait for your symptoms to return before you repeat the dose.

Try to avoid raw onion, garlic, peppermint and coffee etc. for two days from the day you take the doses including the day you take them.

One dose would be 3 drops of remedy in some 10 ml of water sipped up in empty stomach and clean mouth. No food or drinks one hour before or after taking the dose.

Please take a look at my update below and advise your recommended next step for me:

I took the 30C and did not notice any changes over the next week. I then took a 200C dose as described in the morning (2015-03-24).

Symptoms - day 1: very sleepy mid-morning and then again in the afternoon.
- Mid-day the skin on my back became sensitive (similar to when I have a cold).
- Slept very well that night!

Symptoms - day 2: Did not feel like I was in my body.
- Felt like I had gone through some emotional challenge, and now wanted to to retreat, rest, and recover.
- I had more energy all day.
- Eyes slightly less dry in the morning.
- Mouth dry all afternoon and evening.

Symptoms - day 3: Felt good. Calm. Energy level good all day.

Overall, improvements to date are that my eyes are slightly less dry in the morning and throughout the day, and my eye sight is a little clearer. I had not realized how much I had gotten used to blurry vision until my eyes improved.

Any advice you may have for a next step for me would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your time as assistance.

Now that you have responded well, let the curing process continue. Don't take any further dose as long as you think you are doing well. Don't rush to get better fast. The body will take its own time to heal.

After a couple of weeks, if you feel you are going back or have reached a plateau, take one of 200C and then again wait for your response.

Continue this process as long as 200C works on you.

Thank you for all of your advice.

As I said before, I am new to homeopathy and am curious what is normal.

After waiting ~ 5 weeks, I felt myself going back as you described and took a 2nd dose of 200C on Saturday, 4/18. My dry eyes had returned.

I have noticed some of the same symptoms with the 2nd dose as with the 1st, plus some new symptoms - please let me know if this is normal:

Symptoms - day 1 (Saturday):
- Very sleepy that night (same as with first dose)
- Woke-up in the middle of the night with my right leg 'asleep' - completely numb(unusual for me). Noticed both legs easily going to sleep and needed to be careful how I slept.
- No change in dry eyes.

Symptoms - day 2 (Sunday):
- Sleepy mid-day, sleepy at night (same as with first dose)
- Skin on my back itched through-out the day.
- Had to be careful how I slept again - legs going numb easy. Less than previous night.
- Stool lighter color than normal dark brown.
- No change in dry eyes.

Symptoms - day 3 (Monday):
- Very sleepy all day. Uncomfortable sitting for too long and needed to either move or lay down.
- Sleepy at night (same as with first dose)
- In the morning, felt angry - aggressive.

Symptoms - day 4: (today):
- Difficulty focusing, difficulty getting things done.
- Dry eyes slightly better.
- Stool almost normal
- Less sleepy in the afternoon.

Is this all a normal part of healing, or am I having a reaction to the homeopathy?

Thank you!

You will gradually get well. This is sometimes referred to as healing crisis. Your vitality will take some time to set right every little problem that you were suffering from.

Please wait for another one week and let me know the improvements. I am sure you will gradually improve in all fronts.

Another update.

I have not taken another dose - still monitoring.

THYROID
When I was in my early 20s, I was diagnosed with Grave's disease - which gives you a hyper thyroid condition. I was treated with a radio-active isotope of Iodine that killed my thyroid gland. I have been on daily thyroid supplement ever since.

My last dose of homeopathy was on 4/18. Two weeks later I had a hyper-thyroid symptom of mild heart palpitations for 2 weeks. My thyroid was tested and I was a little hyper-thyroid (even though my daily dose had not changed).

Soon after, the heart palpitations stopped, and I feel fine. I am planning to get another thyroid test tomorrow tomorrow to double-check before making any changes.

Any advice related to homeopathy?

OLD INJURIES
Yesterday and today (5/16 and 5/17) my bones ache. Old bone injuries aching in my back and legs. I am better today than yesterday, but still aching as if injury was more recent. Is this related to homeopathy?

Thank you for your time and assistance..!

DH-Homeopathy 8 years ago
You need not take any dose now as long as you see changes happening in you. Old symptoms will surface during the curing process but things would be fine shortly. Some people call it healing crisis or alignment of vital forces.

Report your condition when all your symptoms stabilize.

Update:

I have had no symptoms for almost 4 weeks. Do you recommend another dose yet? 200C as before or 1M or?

Thank you!

DH-Homeopathy 8 years ago
Have you started having some symptoms now?

Have the symptoms relapsed after 4 weeks?

Please brief me on above and then we will decide on the repetition of dose.

rishimba 8 years ago
My apologies - I was not clear.

Old chronic symptoms:
I still have the dry eyes, dry ears, dry skin. The dry eyes started to get better after the last dose, then relapsed.

I have no new symptoms (part of the homeopathy doing the work) - just the old chronic symptoms.

Hope that helps.

Thank you for your help!

Let me know after a month.

rishimba 8 years ago
