Adult acne (23 male)

Hello,

I am an adult male, 23 years old, started getting acne about 2 years ago. Sorry for the long background that is to follow, but I think it is important.

At someone's recommendation I tried using Silicea (D12) with Kali Bromide (D6) about a year ago, they seemed to just bring out the acne even more, even though I used them for several months. A key and mysterious point is that when my Silicea tablets were finishing, I was visiting a relative who had a good supply of homeopathy at home, and he prepared some more for me; I am not sure exactly in which potency. Anyway I continued using that for about a month more before I gave it up.

In the year after that, I've tried all kinds of weird solutions and nothing really worked. About a month or two ago, in a state of desperation I noticed that I still had some of that Silicea left and decided, why not, let me give it a shot. After that I became 95% clear in about one or two weeks. Unfortunately, the tablets then ran out. After one or two days of not using anything, the acne started coming back so I decided to order Silicea D 12 again from the pharmacy. After a few days things just started getting red and inflamed again, so I decided to try D 6. That wasn't any better so I just decided to go for 200 C, 5 pellets once per day. I read that it normally gets worse before getting better (even though the mysterious 2 weeks of clearness I had seemed to contradict that!), so I decided to persevere with it. That was followed by a few weeks of hell where I could barely look at myself in the mirror. Luckily I perserved and eventually I noticed things started to improve slowly. Especially with the Kali Bromide (which I was still taking at D 6 potency all this time, 1 tablet 3-4 times per day), I always noticed an immediate effect within a few hours. That gave me hope. After 2-3 more weeks of very slow improvement, I started to get a bit impatient. I thought that maybe I should try using a lower potency instead, so I switched to C 30 two days ago (one pellet three times per day). After that things have started getting red and inflamed again. I don't know what to do now, should I continue with C 30, C 200 or maybe even D 6?

I really need some expert advice now. To be honest, if it wasn't for the one week of clearness I would have given up long ago.

Regarding the acne itself, it is all on the face: cheeks, forehead and occasionally on the nose. By the way, I should also mention that soon after the acne started, I went to an eye doctor and they told me I had blepharitis, and that it was probably causing the acne. I took eye drops for that and the blepharitis cleared up, but the acne stayed. Another eye doctor I saw later suggested that it was rather the acne that was causing the blepharitis.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
please stop taking any more medicine. you have already taken too many doses. there is no specific medicine for any disease in homeopathy. if 10 persons come with the same problem 10 different medicines might be needed. to find out what medicine you need you will have to answer certain questions. if you wish to get treated i will post the questionnaire.

take only one dose sulphur 200 in the morning. avoid all sour food and drinks. do not repeat medicine. report after 7 days.

telescope 9 years ago
Thanks a lot for your advice. I will start that tomorrow. By sour food do you mean even citrus like lemon, orange, grapefruit?

jamesmorphy 9 years ago
yes. citrus fruits also.

telescope 9 years ago
Just to clarify, you mean to take the dose only one morning, not every morning for 7 days?

jamesmorphy 9 years ago
only one dose on one day. no more medicine. that dose can act for around 20 days if not disturbed. it is dangerous to repeat medicine while the previous dose is still working
.

Since taking the dose this morning, I have been feeling an almost constant ache in my right forearm. I guess kind of effect this may be normal though.

Hi telescope,

I believe it has been seven days now. I think that there has been a bit of improvement, but probably minimal. I still have small red dots on the cheeks and forehead, and on the left cheek especially a kind of cluster of red spots. Mentally I feel better than one week ago though.

What should I do now? Honestly, I was seeing more improvement with Silicea and Kali Bromide (before I overdosed and it became inflamed). But that also took some time to happen, so maybe I have to continue with the Sulphur to see results. Should I take another dose tomorrow or keep waiting?

Thanks,
J

do not take any more medicine now. wait for another week.

telescope 9 years ago
Ok, thanks. Just another quick question, am I allowed to drink tea?

jamesmorphy 9 years ago
yes. you can drink tea.

telescope 9 years ago
Ok great. Someone had told me to avoid it while taking homoeopathy, but I'll take your advice Doc!

jamesmorphy 9 years ago
So the update now is: it's a little better, the skin is smoother, but the red dots are still there. What would you recommend next?

Thanks,
J.

take one dose Calcarea Carb 1M .

telescope 9 years ago
I don't think I have any of the symptoms of that though, like obesity or desire to eat eggs. Should I still take it?

jamesmorphy 9 years ago
you do not find all symptoms of a medicine in one person. so not having this or that symptom is not very important. besides, there may be other reasons for selection of a remedy. you can still take it. only one dose.
