Help for 16 year old dog?
I have a 16 year old dog who has been experiencing some problems. Her blood panel is fairly normal overall and so our vet feels she is experiencing symptoms of old age. I am trying to figure out if there is something I could try to ease her symptoms:Lack of appetite
Tired and weak
Hind-end weakness (bum sinks as she stands)
Does not sleep well (wakes up numerous times at midnight and again at 1 or 2 am) but after that sleeps until the morning.
Dementia type symptoms, (paces around and appears lost)
Lost hearing
Loss of voice (no longer barks or whines) but still produces sound while dreaming
Takes a very long time to urinate
Drinks small amounts of water frequenly
Has separation anxiety, does not like to be alone.
Overall, she seems to do better later in the day
She seems to improve after she's had a rest
Sometimes has loose stool on and off
Sometimes vomits bile in the morning (not very frequent)
Based on this I wondered about arsenicum album or nux vomica but am not exactly sure if this fits her symptoms exactly.
