Question regarding potency

Could anyone tell me (or point me in the direction of information on) how long different potencies effect the person being treated? I think I heard someone say once that 1M acts for a month, but I am not sure that is true and cannot remember where I heard it. It may have been someone on this forum or another forum. I am working on learning homeopathy and would very much appreciate any information you may have.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
you can get that in Kent's repertory at the end. there are short acting remedies and there are long acting remedies. it is the long acting remedies that act like this. the short acting remedies cannot act that long. for example aconite is a short acting remedy. whatever potency you may use will work for a few hours only. but sulphur which is a long acting remedy will be active for 30 days or more at 1 m potency. the number of days a medicine remains active varies from person to person which makes decision regarding repetition very difficult. duration of action of remedies is for chronic diseases. if for example sulphur which is a long acting medicine is used in an acute condition its duration of action can get significantly reduced. you may have to repeat 1m after only a few hours.
