Bradycardia

I want to share a recent experience with a patient of Bradycardia-my wife. This condition is a chronic condition of a low heart rate. The average heart rate of this patient was 48. She was not athletic. She takes lipitor and a depression drug. No smoking/drinking/drugs. She began having increased fainting spells (starting 30 years ago) and was lethargic and sleepy. Doctor diagnosed with Bradycardia after monitored heart rate of 36-42 during a 2 hour period in an emergency room.

Age: 57
Female
I will not complete the form but will confirm her mentals conform to dig.
I administered 2 doses of digitalis 200K 12 hours apart.
1 pill under the tongue before bed.

25 May 15: First day she was dizzier than before and her pulse slowed from 48 to 41 for the entire day (aggravation?).

Second day she woke up at 7 am for the first time in decades.
Pulse was 60 and rising.

Third day her pulse was 70 and energy levels were 10 fold.

8 June 15: Her pulse in now normal at 72-75 and energy levels are great. No more mid-day naps. I do not intend to dose again.

The only cure for Bradycardia is a pacemaker in modern medicine.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Not to dampen your spirits, imo, it seems palliation as you could never have gotten the true symptoms for repertorization with her being on lipitor & SSRI.

My analysis could be wrong but it can be verified in due course if her symptoms keep returning despite repeated doses.

Hi Fitness. Great to hear from you.

I considered the current meds she takes but I knew her before as she is my wife. Normally I would have the subject stop all meds for a brief period of time before consulting the repertory. Unfortunately with antidepressants I find additional symptoms crop up for months after withdrawal clouding the treatment options. I don't have months to wait, my wife was dying.

Thanks for your input and I will closely monitor and reasses if needed. I will keep you posted.

Thanks Fitness.
