Diabetes

I came across this Ted talk, which I thought deserved sharing:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=da1vvigy5tQ

In a nutshell: carbs are bad, fats are good.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Very nice.

Thanks Simon-

That was great. I like that one can still
bake but just use coconut flour, almond,
or hazelnut flour, seed flours- and then incorporate
psyllium husk into the recipe-

One site she suggests for recipes is
"Ditch the Carbs"

Her mantra- No GPS ( grains, potatoes, sugar )

And my article shared several times on this site in which I have emphasized to get tested for insulin BEFORE mindlessly starting the diabetes medicines:

Basically she is right that there is a lot of vested interest to ensure that people stay on medication!

No kidding-Like she says , there are "Agenda's"
Look at what is labeled in every Jar, and can and bottle.
how many grams of sugar, how many grams of salt-
and remember to look at what is a "serving" bc those
grams are PER serving. If a serving is two tablespoons or
a 1/4th of a cup, you can see how you KNOW you are going
to go thru the roof on sugar and salt.

The Agenda's are Big Pharma, and the food industry, depleted
soil, GMO food.

Neil Young has a new album out- I don't like his music that well-
but I like the Title of the album- It 's called "The Monsanto Years"

Get Real food, use Xylitol instead of sugar ( it is made from
tree bark) get flour made out of flax, almond, or other nuts or
coconut flour and you will not feel deprived.

Its music to my ears when I hear people bashing Monsanto because they are the ones who are screwing everyone over with GMO seeds & lobbying.

If you get a chance, watch How Its Made for Sugar.

Imo, little use of sugar is not bad, its the processing that makes it so and then huge amounts of usage.

Raw, unrefined, unprocessed extracts of sugar sources are the way to go.

Yes, I agree ( will watch that) but on the people who are
on diabetes meds and then those meds are now failing
them after years, I think they have to be more radical in
substitution-at least that woman is having results.

I agree, there is nothing better than modifying your diet for this.

The only problem with eliminating carbs is that you may find in 10 years, like Atkins dieters did, that it messes up the joints.

Humanity has survived on eating everything as nature made it not what comes out of a factory.

You might have seen the new ads of diabetes meds which now work on kidneys and will screw them too!

Diabetes is a disease in which your blood glucose, or blood sugar, levels are too high. Glucose comes from the foods you eat. Insulin is a hormone that helps the glucose get into your cells to give them energy. With type 1 diabetes, your body does not make insulin. With type 2 diabetes, the more common type, your body does not make or use insulin well. Without enough insulin, the glucose stays in your blood. You can also have prediabetes. This means that your blood sugar is higher than normal but not high enough to be called diabetes. Having prediabetes puts you at a higher risk of getting type 2 diabetes.
