Anuj Srivastava:help with molar infection

I am trying to get some time 2-3 weeks before i go back for molar extraction. Simon recommended that you are the best person to seek help temporarily.

I developed an infection in upper right molar with equally severe swelling to a degree I thought pain would kill me. I had a root canal done a year ago on an affected molar. I had a prescription from Entodontist from last year for Viacidin and Clindamycin. I used for these meds on the weekend and visited the Doctor on Monday. Endodontist informed me that the infection has spreaded in the root of upper right molar to the extent that even the bone is damaged, and infection has destroyed the bone to a great extent. He suggested that Molar need to be extracted asap, and affected area needs to be deep cleaned from infection and bone need to be grafted/implanted. This is a very costly procedures I cannot afford to do it immediately due to financial constraint. If I can get some time to get finances together to go through the procedure. If I had a choice, I definitely would have not gone for it. To tell you the truth this is the second time in my life that I have used antibiotic. Dr. has given me the appointment of August 8 saying it is your call if something happens.

Since this is a Molar on the upper right side, it can affect eyes, brain nerve, etc. Even after completing the antibiotic course affected molar has not fully recovered I can still see the infection. The most like picture you see of gingivitis in dentist office's wall. It seems like gum has receded by a quarter of an inch towards the check area.

I would greatly appreciate if you can recommend a remedy for me. If I can totally get rid of the infection, personally I would not go for extraction and implant at all. I do not have pain at all. I can chew from the affected side though I am trying not to do it. Swelling is almost gone (90%) there is 10% left, it is just receding of gum is making it a horrible picture of my teeth. While brushing teeth, I have no problem or sensitivity.

During last five years or so every dentist has informed me that it is your saliva that causes plaque buildup and that has been the factor causing bone loss in four-six molar. The only thing they can do was to clean teeth frequently. I have been going to the dentist for clean up every 3-4 month for the last three years. The other factor is that everybody in our family has teeth problem, I know sisters have pyorrhea, as well as my mother, these were the family members that were detected. I am sure others sibling have some dental issues.

I greatly appreciate yours advice.

Thank you
