My 3.5 years old son having cough for a long time

My son is 3 years and 10 months old. He has cough for last 7 months and took lot of homeopathic and alopathic medicine. But no result. Almost everyday he starts to cough during day or night. Then we give him Cetirizine Dihydrochloride syrup after 1/2 hours it becomes ok. Again next day it starts again. There is no timing for his cough. It may start in the morning when he Wake up from bed or in the middle of day or at night. At least once in a day it comes.
Please advise which medicine to take. I am afraid the syrup I am giving him everyday will cause asthma.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
give him sulphur 30 one dose any time during the day but not at night. do not give him any sour things to eat or drink. sometime after taking the medicine there may be vomiting or loose stool to throw the mucous out.

Hi Ashraful,

Did you check him for polyps? My son coughed for more than 4 month and finally went to the ENT specialist and told us that the polyps are the reason for his cough. I think that telescope can help you if you confirm him that he has polyps.

Dear telescope and Adina,
Thanks a lot for your kind reply. As Adina advised i will go to ENT doctor. Meanwhile, telescope- do you suggest that i should start sulphur for my son? Pediatrician diagonized that its only allergy since they did not find anything in his chest by x-ray.

you can start sulphur. one dose only.
