The ABC Homeopathy Forum

Blushing, redness in face, social anxiety

Hi,

I have been experiencing some symptoms for the last few years, which have gotten worse in the last year or so.

I tend to have a sudden onset of blushing over nothing, even if I'm not particularly nervous or anxious about something. It could be over something as simple as someone catching me off guard with a simple question, or someone giving me a compliment. This also happens in more anxious moments too, of course.

It feels as though there is a rush or surge of adrenaline, or nervousness, like an overactive or hyperactive fight or flight response over small insignificant things. This has caused me to hold back from conversations, speaking up, going out, as it is incredibly embarrassing. I have developed somewhat of social anxiety in spite of this blushing, as I am always now fearful that it will occur whenever.

I have tried all different types of bach flower remedies for shyness, anxiety, and stress with no avail. I do yoga and exercise regularly. I eat very healthy, and sleep well for the most part.

I am at wits end with this situation as it is impacting my social life, my confidence, and self esteem. I have checked within other threads within this forum but as everone's case is so different and homeopathic remedy suggestions are different, I didn't even know which one would be best for my case. Please, if anyone can help with this I would be forever grateful.

Hello,

Thank you for your reply.

I was very outgoing, happy, friendly in high school and beginning of college. Somewhere in the end of college, I started getting more self conscious and nervous in social situations. The blushing happens on my entire face, not just cheeks, the face begins to feel super hot and the blushing comes on very quickly and lasts for a few minutes. I start feeling panicky that my face is blushing and I get anxiety if others can see it happening. I will usually excuse myself or turn away until the blushing calms down a few minutes later. During that time, I feel flustered, shaky, warm. It usually only lasts a few minutes. I sometimes go through a few weeks where it doesn't happen once, and other weeks where it happens every single day.

I have a slight suspicion that the blushing tends to flare up more one week before and during my menstrual cycle, so i'm not sure if it is hormonal.

The social anxiety I believe started occurring after the blushing began. Now I tend to avoid being put in any situations where I will be the center of attention, where a lot of people have to look at me at once. I was not like this in my past, I enjoyed being the funny, joking, center of attention. I don't know exactly what happened what changed.

Please let me know if you need more information. Thank you in advance.

you are weepy type or want consolation or angry type .your weight .liking for salty, sweet or sour more.any breakup or any suppressed feeling or insult or anger.

I think I am more angry type, although I am a very friendly person. When something irritates me I guess I get more angry rather than weepy.

I crave sweet after meals, I crave salty from time to time.

It is hard for me to say what I truly feel to most people to avoid confrontation or bad feelings, so I usually just agree in the moment and then resent afterwards.

Thank you very much for your reply. I will order this today and begin the treatment.

I see that Staphysagaria addresses suppressed emotions, emotional issues, etc. do you believe that this will ultimately address the blushing symptoms? Clearing the emotional issues will lead to clearing of the blushing?
