Afraid of Animals

My son is 8y.o. & is scared of most animals, I was attacked by a large dog 1.5yrs ago which he witnessed, & left me in hospital for 2wks. He is terrified of dogs, chickens, horses, insects, worms just about anything. He wont go near them,will stay in the car or a different room from them, if someone comes near him with an animal he is terrified & will scream& cry. Can u help?
