Anosmia

Hello
I am a student at medical school. I am writing my thesis about patients with loss of sense of smell.
We treat those patients with Cortison (p.o. and local) and high dose Vitamin B complex.
Unfortunatly this does not work in most of the cases.
What homeopathical therapy could be useful?
Most of the patients are elderly (50+) and have lost their smell after an infection.

Many thanks in advance

I saw your post about Anosmia. I think I am suffering from that ailment. I have been suffering from sinus congestion for many year. Last week I had a severe attack. The only thing I could find to treat is was Cold-Ease nasal spray. The next morning I discovered that I had no sense of smell. I am a 55 year old male in relatively good health. I have no history of anosmia in my family. I can smell certain thing very slightly, such as spices. I have also lost my sense of taste. You mentioned several remedies in your post. How can I determine which to try?

Thanks,
Alvin Hill

As the problem is suppression related one dose Sulphur 1m should be taken. It may be sufficient for cure. If not indication for the correct remedy will be there. However as you are new you should not try anything above 30 in the beginning. Sulphur exposes hidden problems so when the original problem surfaces you have to be ready for it. Otherwise the problem will not resolve. Whether you use 30 or 1m only one dose is to be used. Best time for Sulphur is morning. It is not to be used at night. All sour food and drinks are to be avoided as they will antidote sulphur
