Breath Holding in 1 year old Baby

My daughter is 1 year old, whenever she cries to ask for something which is unappropriate to give her at this age, she cries & turns blue in the face & keeps holding her breath until she turns blue in the face & goes unconcious for a few seconds...this has happened many times & we were advised by the Doctor that nothing would happen...still i'm afraid, i would like to know if any Homoeopathic medicine is available for the same.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
You can try gently massaging an ice cube on her ears when she holds her breath.

This should shock her into breathing.

I doubt that any Homeopathic remedy can help. The good news is that this phase will only be temporary and she will soon grow out of it.

Hi Shaikh47 -
My son also turned blue and passed out when something upset him - starting around 8 mos.

When he was 18 mos I found a Homeopathic doctor who put him on Medorinum. The episodes went from occuring approx 3x per day to approx 3x per week!! I was so relieved, grateful and happy.

Breathing into his nose, splashing water on his face, calling to him, etc. did nothing to help.

He's now almost nine and I can't remember the last time it happened although I think it still happened up to a few years ago when he experienced pain or fear, etc., but it gradually lessened over the years and by 5 it rarely occured.

It was so hard to find babysitters!! People would get so scared when it happened - even my mom wouldn't watch him when he was little.

My best to you!!

Glad you bumped up this thread.

Do you remember the potency of the Medorrhinum prescribed ?

Hi Joe,

Thanks for the correct spelling!

She always gives us a vial of 12c 'support' pellets to take home after giving us a stronger dose in the office (of tiny pellets).

I don't know the strength of the initial dose but could find out for you.
