The ABC Homeopathy Forum

so many homeopaths and methods these days

hello. let me explain what i mean. as a family we have been very fortunate over the last 26 years to have had some great dedicated family homeopaths who have sadly retired now. my observation the last year and a half is this, compared to how things were many years ago, when there werent so many homeopaths, i have found that there seem to be so many now particularly online. i have now consulted 2 of these over a year and a half, but they seem to practice in different ways, sometimes using 3 or 4 remedies at once, or using different therapies on top, which just confuses us, and even in one case antibiotics, which caused a host of residual problems. the old family homeopaths seemed to be more kind of dedicated, with the family for years before retirement, but out biggest irritation is a lack of communication after taking a prescribed remedy. we have never bothered our homeopaths as a rule, just taken the remedy and got on with things, but sometimes these days we get huge aggravations, and once or twice even proved the remedies. when we e mail there is more often than not, no reply whatsover, until it comes round to the next appointment and then they appear. now im not knocking homeopathy, as we have used it all of our lives, but we are certainly getting a little jaded, and a little fed up at the lack of support, which from our point of view, is few and far between to the point we have gone to the gp once or twice, which is a total contradiction in the way we prefer to see to our health. also evertime we choose to look for a more dedicated or communicative homeopath, it costs a good deal of money, and patience, not to mention frustration on our part. we are a little stuck for a physical homeopath due to geography. we are just curious whether any other patients come across this problem these days. its all very confusing, take 4/5 remedies, and by the way you are on your own until the next appointment, perhaps it is just us, but we are becoming increasingly disapointed and fed up.

There are two basic types of homeopaths.

Type-1: Known as Classical or Hahnemanian or Single Remedy Homeopaths.

Type-2: Everyone else who prescribe as they please i.e. combinations, mixing remedies, without following the rules that Hahnemann taught.

Dear Paula1,
What you say is true. There are a lot of people who call themselves homeopaths but are actually not so. The reason is they think and act like allopathic doctors. Allopathy treats diseases whereas homeopathy treats the patient. That is why allopaths give many medicines and homeopaths only one.
The science of homeopathy is easy but the art is very difficult to practice.
Only some lucky persons get to be treated by a real homeopath.
You can try your luck here in the forum. Just go through a few cases of different doctors and see if somebody fits your idea about a good doctor. If you find one post your case requesting his help specifically.
