Sleep Help - Infant 8 months old

My husband and I have tried just about everything with our baby to help his sleep - sleep training, essential oils, and much more. I would like to explore homeopathy as it has helped me in the past.

Here is a little history:

We had a bit of a traumatic birth - induction that ended in emergency c-section. He has been very alert, strong and developmentally advanced since birth. Even at 2 weeks old he seemed like he was at least 2 months old. He's very social and inquisitive by nature. Although he prefers for me (mom) to be around and hold him, he will easily go to other people... usually reaching for them when they smile at him. Around the house he loves to explore new things, although he gets bored and does well if we leave the house once a day.

His disposition is usually very happy unless he is tired. He eats well, usually 3 meals a day and is breastfed as well. He eats 2x a night (on a typical night)

We have been having trouble at night. Previously he slept ok at night and would go down on his own and then wake up 4 hours later to eat. Lately he has been waking up after 30 minutes of sleep, maybe an hour if we are lucky. Then he usually wakes up again an hour later.... seemingly for no reason.

However, we have ALWAYS struggled with day time sleep. He refuses to nap on his own. Even when I have let him fall asleep on his own he will only sleep 30 minutes and then wake up and never fall back to sleep. I have waited it out and monitored him via video and he will play and fuss occasionally for 30 min - an hour.
Some people say that he may not need as much sleep as other babies, but I really don't feel like this is the case! It's obvious he is tired, and he can easily get overtired because he doesn't nap well.

What should I try? I am hesitant only because I don't want him to get "hooked" on anything... but I also want my baby well rested. I want him to feel good and get the sleep his body needs.
