For the ladies that are confused about which calcium and silica to use here is what I've used that has worked for me...Use can take regular horsetail silica at three time the potency meaning if the bottle says one a day you will take three pills a day and three different times a day ALONG WITH a Calcium Citrate + vitamin D WITH MAGNESIUM which can be can be purchased at CVS pharmacy in the United States. Just so you know which Calcium I'm talking about here are the ingredients.

Vitamin D
Vitamin B-6
Calcium
Magnesium
Boron
Zinc
Copper
Now these same ingredients can be found in a Silica COMPLEX but fro my understanding some ladies were having issues finding Silica Complex in stores and I found this at my local drug store...

I am currently only taking this Calcium vitamin D with magnesium twice a day by itself and it has done more good for my cyst than two weeks of silica. So if you can only find immediate access to CALCIUM+VITAMIN D WITH MAGNESIUM then this should work just fine. My cyst is half it's size after only one dose of the Calcium. Drink plenty water and be prepared to abstain from sex for at least three weeks during the course of the treatment.

My first bartholin cyst was 11 years ago. It felt like a golf ball was growing in my vagina. I went to my gyno and he drained it. Immediate relief. The cyst came back every three months, and each time infected. My doctor prescribed an antibiotic to help fight off the infection. After one year he performed the marsupulization in his office. The cyst did not come back for eight years -- and then it did. It was two years and it came back again and now as I type 11 months later I have another one. I started taking the antibiotics which I always have on had. My doctor wants to do the marsupulizaton again. I just don't know what to do. I am in pain, lying in my bed feeling depressed. Work has been very stressful and I wonder if the cyst is a result of that stress. I will call my doctor on Monday to schedule a time for the cyst to be lanced or whatever. I went eight years without a cyst free. Now three in three years. I never want to have one of these again. No-one understands the pain and discomfort.

I'm 22 and I first noticed this swollen lump on the lower right side of my private area after sex with my husband 3 months ago.

I surfed the internet for solutions when it didn't go away after a week, I immediately became worried. Two weeks later I was suddenly aware of the painful soreness and had to go home. Needless to say there was no sexual activity during this time for the hubby and me. The next day I went to the urgent care center, fearing a hernia. I was given a cruel diagnosis. The doctor told me it was a Bartholin's cyst and detailed the treatment options available. He admitted he had never treated one before, so naturally I would not be letting him near it. In fact, on my way out, I caught the nurse reading one of the same articles I found before the doctors visit; obviously they had just as good an idea how to help as I did.

More research into the mysterious plague.

I began taking Epsom salt baths every day, twice a day, as hot as I could take it. I also applied a hot washcloth soaked in a concentrated salt solution. The horrible thing went away suddenly in the middle of the night, to my pleasant surprise. However, there was still a small hard ball there. I assumed it would diminish and I would become normal again. There was no discharge that I noticed, but since this whole thing started, nothing had been normal down there. Maybe it was paranoia. I doubted it.

I resumed sexual activity after an irritating 5 weeks. However, I found that, except for 2 or 3 occasions, it was quicker to get sore that before and I it wasn't as pleasurable. I had to stop frequently. I became frustrated. The menacing little hard ball was still there...really tiny, but it felt different from the other side. I simply took more baths after sex and drank echinacea tea, changed my diet (I'm already eating Organic food to avoid health problems) to avoid as much sugar, wheat and yeast containing products as I can and I hoped for the best. Good vibes and all that.

But no, it came back.

About a month ago I noticed the lump, a lot smaller this time, but still there - still getting bigger and smaller in an annoying up and downs until finally when I woke up this morning, it's abscessed again.

*Sigh*

I have taken one salt bath already and will take another later on (can't take too many...) and will get more tea and try some silica from Whole Foods. Hopefully it works. I'll post what I find here. It's already come up really swollen so maybe that means it will heal itself soon...for good.

However, no matter how bad this seems to annoy me, I will not let a doctor between my legs with a scalpel, speculum or whatever else. What did people do 500 years ago? I don't know. But if I lost any sexual function permanently...that's like loosing the 3rd dimension. So I'm going to try and navigate this on my own for now - I just hope some wonderful scientist comes up with a noninvasive effectively permanent treatment for this to save the uninsured doctor-phobes like me!

You wouldn't consider homoeopathy? It is completely non-invasive

Firstly, I want to say thanks for this site because all these responses encouraged me to do it naturally.
I came up with a small-ish lump about 12 months ago. Doctor told me it was a bartholins cyst but quite small and shouldnt bother me. It seemed to swell at different times, intermittently after sex. Not every occasion but sometimes it would swell quite large after sex and i was worried. No pain though. A few months ago I decided to get a second opinion as it was making it self more apparent, more regularly. Second doctor said the same and that unless it is painful, not to worry.

However in the last 10days the lump seemed to double in size each day and started feeling very tender. I thought sex would stimulate the gland to move fluid but that made it worse. I started having warm baths twice daily and that was not helping at all. In fact, I think that was also what was contributing to a quicker fluid build up and more pain. The pain levels by this point were quite intense. I couldnt bend, sit or walk without grimacing.
i went to the walk in centre attached to a&e and the triage nurse sent me straight to acute gynaecology. ~the doctors said my lump was very big and although not much redness, they thought it to be quite infected. They explained the procedure of local anaesthetic and a catheter for four weeks to drain the fluid. Also options of a general anasthetic to cut it out. or thirdly letting my body do it itself.
Due to the level of pain i was in I was quite eager to have it lanced, then and there. But remembered this forum. So I booked an appointment two days from then and went home to try things my self. I stopped the baths as they were no good for me. I got a hot water bottle and rested it on the area, hoping to encourage blood flow and healing. Also did some gentle massage around my hips. After one night with the hot water bottle, the swelling had reduced to less than half. Some relief.
Following day I started on some homeopathics - silica 30c and hepar sulph 30c. one dose rotating each on the hour.
also moved out from my boyfriend (whom I think was providing some emotional stress as I didnt think i should really be in this relationship) and the swelling seems to continue to go down.
its been three days and although the lump is still there - i think i can continue getting it smaller in size. next i will try some reiki i think. oh and i have been doing some meditation and visualisations as well.
last night there was some blood in my jocks and i thought it was my period, but no so convinced this morning.
anyway, to all the women in the same boat, good luck. and thanks for sharing your stories. hope mine helps..

I had my first bartholin cyst 3 years ago, and about 4 days ago, I found out that I had another one. I went to the doctor this morning, and she gave me a prescription. To be more specific, she gave me Moxifloxacin Hydrochloride Tablets, Avelox. The doctor adviced me to take it once a day. However, after taking it for the first day, I found my bartholin cyst to be bigger. Does everyone know whether big is a good thing or not?
I saw some posts saying that their bartholin cyst got bigger and it popped on its own. Does anyone here has the same result after taking medicines?
Thanks for trying to help, guys ^_^

First of all, I want to let you know that I was in China when I have this cyst.
I've had the bartholin cyst since Feb 7. It was small at first, but got bigger each day. I didn't go to the doctor on the day I found out, cause I wanted to give it a shot, treating it myself by doing sitz bath for like 6-7 times a day. I was hoping that it'll pop by itself, so that I don't need to take any medicines or undergo any operations. However, it didn't work.
Then I decided to go see a doctor on the 4th day. Unfortunately, the doctor didn't seem professional. She just gave me antibiotic medicines, which was called Avelox. After drinking it, my cyst unexpectedly got really bigger, that it was really hurting me. I got problem walking and didn't even dare to sit. All I did was sleep, sleep n sleep. I kept taking the antibiotics for 3 days, but it didn't help at all. I started seeing another doctor. It didn't help neither. The doctor seemed not to know what she was doing. She told me to keep drinking the antibiotic that the other doctor gave earlier and kept doing the sitz bath, but nothing worked for those 12 days.
My point here, not all bartholin cysts can pop on its own. At the end, I got a small operation to remove that huge sized cyst. I was wrong to think that it could pop on its own since it was big.
The operation cost me over 6000 RMB, which is around $900.
I'm just hoping that I'm helping some people who endure the same thing as I did. If you tried all things and it didn't pop for several days, don't wait any longer, cause it's just gonna hurt you even more.

Hello Ladies, I just had bartholin cyst a few weeks ago. Mine was about cherry size and tender to touch. Some colored discharge from vagina. That was my second time. First time was a few years ago and that time I went to gynecologist and had drained. It was so painful and I don't want to do it again. So this time, I just did sitz bath 3 times a day and 15 mins each time for 3 days. I put heat pad on the cyst for about 15 mins before I went to bed. Beside those, I took Super Silica complex 3 times a day (1 pill each time). On fourth day, when I was sitting in sitz bath, my cyst started drained itself. All pain were gone and felt so much better. I kept doing sitz bath and taking silica until the lump completely disappear which took about a week. I felt like it was miracle. No pain, no knife, no money cost. I only paid $20 (including shipping) for Silica pills. That's all and mine was completely cured. I told about that to my friend who is suffering from bartholin cyst also. She just phoned me last night and said her cyst was gone too by using the method I shared. So I hope this info works for you girls too. All I did was sitz bath + heat pad + silica complex. Good luck...

Hello,

I have gotten these cysts to which doctors have referred to as POLYPS in the vaginal area. These are parasites. Diataceous Earth is a clay which removes toxins from the body, including parasites, and helps the body absorb calcium because it contains SILICA naturally. Take a tablespoon a day and they will resolve and stay on it for a maintenance dose. It is a great supplement!

I have had these cysts twice after having strep and being treated by amoxicillan which i'm obviously having a bad reaction to. the first time I had it, after taking bactrim for strep it cleared on its own, I'm now on zytrhomax and (took one dose of augmentin prescribed by my doctor for the strep and didnt realize amoxicillan was in augmentin). These cysts returned, they abscessed took sitz bath and yesterday they drained on their own, today, it is extremely painful to walk or urinate, any suggestions for pain relief, I'm so frustrated and in great pain.

kitty123 last decade
does anyone have any information about the link of strep throat and these cysts?
My PMD and my gyn apparently don't.

kitty123 last decade
Yes, they are also related to an infection, herpes type infection that the parasites leave behind. Echinacea and olive leaf are great natural antibiotics. In terms of the pain that you have as a result of these, you can insert zinc picolinate capsules in the vaginal area and that should help. You can also insert garlic cloves, just thread one on a string, put it up there at night, take it out in the morning...use needle and thread!

I have been reading posts from many patients who suffer from Bartholin Cysts and judging by the reports of those who are affected, I believe that the incidence of these Cysts is widespread.

I have never treated this ailment before but I would like to suggest the following therapy which is based on my own experience in the use of the remedies prescribed below:

Silicea 6x dose 2 tablets taken thrice daily to drain the Cyst.
If the Cyst does not drain within 3 days Myristica Sebifera 200 aka 'Homeopathic Knife' to be used in the Wet dose twice daily.

After the patient is relieved of her problem she must take Arnica 30c in the Wet dose for at least 3 months on a nightly basis to ensure that the increased flow of blood in the body will hopefully prevent these Cysts from recurring.

I would appreciate reading the response from patients who may choose to use my therapy aka 'Joepathy' to treat their Cysts.

The Wet dose of any Homeopathic remedy is made as follows:

Order the remedy in the Liquid pack in Alcohol, also referred to as Liquid Dilution in a bottle preferably with a dropper arrangement.
Get a 500ml bottle of Spring Water from the nearest supermarket.
Pour out about 3cm of water from the bottle to leave some airspace.
Insert 3 drops of the remedy into the bottle and shake the bottle hard at least 6 times before you sip a capfull of the bottle or a large teaspoonful which is the dose.
Shaking the bottle hard is homeopathic succussion and this enhances the effect of the remedy on the user.

Hi All,

I am 25 yrs old (from India).I have had the bartholin cyst for over an year.Initially the doctor suggested that if its not painful then I can simply ignore it.
But then at several times it would become irritable, red, swollen up and painful after sex, during period, post period :(
As it became troublesome I decided to take another doc's opinion and she suggested that I get admitted and opt for a surgery which I just dont want to go ahead with as it may aggravate problems and as per other readers reviews its not a long term cure.

I have tried sitz baths and antibiotics as per my doctor's recommendation already but it doesn't work.

As I am heading close to my wedding I intend to get free to this ASAP.Can you please suggest a routine and medicines to be opted which are available in India(Delhi)?

Looking forward to healty bc free life :)

The choice is yours whether to use it or not.

Being a man I cannot unfortunately use it myself in the manner that I have used and prescribed other remedies which constitute my therapy aka 'Joepathy'.

At the worst it may not help your B Cyst but if it does you should know within a week and it would be a pity if you did not use it as you would then have been cured.

In any event the therapy I have prescribed is absolutely safe as you are only using Homeopathic remedies which are made even more gently in their affect by using my Wet dose method.

Joe De Livera last decade
I will get started with it quickly.

Looking forward to a really quick recovery.

Silicea/Myristica Sebifera 200 are to be taken as the case may be till the time the cyst heals or for a continued duration of time thereafter?

I note that you have decided to start on my therapy and shall copy the therapy I prescribed below:

Silicea 6x dose 2 tablets taken thrice daily to drain the Cyst.
If the Cyst does not drain within 3 days Myristica Sebifera 200 aka 'Homeopathic Knife' to be used in the Wet dose twice daily.

After the patient is relieved of her problem she must take Arnica 30c in the Wet dose for at least 3 months on a nightly basis to ensure that the increased flow of blood in the body will hopefully prevent these Cysts from recurring.

I believe that you have understood that you will take the Silicea 6x in tablet form for 3 days and only take the Myrist S 200 in the Wet dose twice daily thereafter till the blister bursts.

You can also start on the Arnica 30 in the Wet dose right away as this too can help the healing process.

Report progress weekly or earlier if your problem resolves quicker.

Hello Everyone!

I am pleased to say that I just had the Bartholin Cyst removed 2 weeks ago tomorrow. I'll tell you a bit about myself and my experiences.

I started having my cyst around the age of 20. When it first came I went to the doctor because it was REALLY big. They told me it was a bruise from having sex too hard...(REALLY THEY DID, I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT) so I let it go. After 2 days I was in so much pain I went to the ER room. Luckily there was an OBGYN there and he told me what it was. They drained it and put a catheter in me. Now, I'm not the skinniest person...but not extremely fat either...on that note I HATE WORD CATHETERS! When your legs rub together it rubs that and it hurts like ALL HELL! So after a day of this I couldn't stand it and went back to the ER. They took it out and put a wick in instead, which was must better.

I dealt with this type of stuff for 3 years. I had a marsuplization of the gland, which didn't help. All it did was give me A LOT of pain. I had the marsuplization and the cyst still came back for 2 more years. I had the cyst removed almost 2 weeks ago (two weeks tomorrow) I was in a lot of pain for the first week (but nothing compared to the marsuplization) I was put under for both the marsuplization and gland removal. I woke up and I don't want to scare you but my vagina looked like it was hit by a city bus. The most painful thing is the bruising. I had busing from the top of my vagina down around my butt hole. I also couldn't poop for 5 days. I ended up having to take a laxative. That was a week ago now and I feel much better. I can still feel the area and it's still swollen but I AM SO HAPPY TO HAVE THIS REMOVED! I know there are some women out there, that they only get it maybe once a year IF THAT. But I had it a lot. I recommend doing the removal. IF you don't do the removal and wait like I did for YEARS and someone had to cut you to make it drain, you'll feel terrible because there will be a lot of scarring down there. From what I can see I just have one line from the stitches (dissolved ones) I'm writing this rarely quickly, so if anyone had ANY questions feel free to private email me or post on here!

I just got over a BC. I had gone to the free clinic because I have no health insurance. I was told that the only treatment was to have it lanced or the entire cyst removed. The Physician's Assistant offered to prescribe some antibiotics although she said they most likely wouldn't do anything. They said the doctor would call me to set an appointment to have the 'procedure' done. Well I was not too thrilled at the prospect of having someone wielding a scalpel nesr my labia. After doing some reseearh and waiting for the Doc to call (he never did) I opted for some home remedy. I took Boiron Silica and Calcarea Flurica. I also took Oregano Oil 3 drops, once a day to kick out what ever infection was there. I took sitz baths once or twic a day. The cyst persisted for about 5 days. On the night of day 5, for about an hour it was really horribly painful and then it burst. Instant relief. It drain completely in 2 days. Everything is ok now. Knock on wood.

Hi ladies. I'm 44 I just had my 3rd BC lanced in two years. I'm also getting advice from doctors to have it removed. I'd like to hear more from those who have had removals.

Meanwhile, my last culture showed Group B Strep bacteria. This is VERY common in pregnant women, so those of you who mentioned getting pregnant or getting these after pregnancy may find GBS is a possible cause. I'm not pregnant, but did have an unfaithful partner...who knows if it was from her, but makes you wonder.

I got my first BC in 2007. It was very large and painful. The dr. put me on antibiotics and it disappeared. Then the second one came up in the fall of 2010 and I have been suffering from it every since. I have done everything. Went to the doctor and had it drained, which it then came right back. After that I tried everything natural from soaks, to homeopathy, acupuncture, diet change etc.

Finally something worked ladies. I bought and applied an ointment called Black ointment or Black Salve (The herbs place). I applied it on the cyst for 3 nights and days. And stopped because I went on vacation. I had totally forgot about it and 2 weeks later the cyst drained. The cyst is still there. But it is no longer swollen it is just a very small lump. But its a 90% improvement and my vagina looks normal again. It has been so long. It even remained a small lump and has not gotten swollen again following sex. I am continuing to put the black salve on. The lump seems to be getting smaller day by day. Please try it. You have nothing to lose. Hope this helps ladies.
