help with how to use Petroleum?

I was hoping someone might know how to use the remedy Petroleum for cracked hands in the winter? My homeopath I've worked with for 7 years has never heard of it, and can't advise. I appreciate any guidance I might get.

Thank you simone717, I actually did send him the link already. He's not comfortable advising me as he's never used the remedy in his practice. I was hoping to get help from someone here. In the Materia Medica link, it also mentions blepharitis, which I am dealing with presently. Also the coughing at night and joints that pop. It would cover a lot of things for me, I just need to know the strength and how often to take.

Actually it is not that easy .

1. With skin problems depending on
Sensitivity, length of time you have had it, amount of times it was suppressed with creams or meds, the right remedy is going to make the problem appear again and again until it is finally released. The wrong potencies or dosing can make this
Process very uncomfortable.

You need step by step guidance. And
Even tho you think petroleum is correct if an experienced person takes your case and looks at your totality , they may decide another remedy covers things better.

So it would not be responsible to just say try x once or twice.

Thank you so much simone717! Is there someone you recommend? Or rather, do you know who would be willing to help in a case like this? The cracked skin on my hands/palms has been going on for three years now. It's the worst in winter, and I get spontaneous cuts and cracks that bleed and take forever to heal, with the large crusty scabs. The blepharitis has been going on for a few years too, but was just diagnosed.
