The ABC Homeopathy Forum

The main problem with my daugther (2 year, 6 month) to be addressed is that of eating and vomiting

She seems to have lot of difficulty while eating. She is hungry, but once she starts eating she behaves as if she is uncomfortable. She will cough, gag and turn away for every bite. At what point of eating this happens varies. Sometimes this happens in the beginning or at the middle of it. Generally its during the middle of her meal. If I push through finishing her meal she will eventually throw up.

She is very gassy in general and usually looks like has gas trapped. Burping does make it easy for her. She does not cry because of it. She is able to tell us that burp is coming.

Because of this we have to give her breaks between eating. Typically give half her food and then 15-20 minutes break. And then rest of the half of her food. This way she does not vomit. So you have to feed her six times a day apart from her milk and snacks. And even then sometimes she can vomit. Once she vomits everything comes out. She does not vomit everyday, maybe once a week. If she has cold, then she vomits more often once a day.

During her break she typically does pass stools which helps her to eat well the rest of the food.

She does also seem to be restless in her sleep sometimes, but now that is better.

She does have Noonan syndrome and a birth heart defect of pulmonary vein stenosis PVS. Because of this she has had open heart surgery when she was 9 months old. The surgery was successfull but she did have a slight complication because of which she needed to be fed with feeding tube for 6 weeks.

She is lactose intolerant. Because of which no diary is given to her. She consumes homemade almond milk . But recently she has developer eczema at the lower back of her scalp and body. Thinking eczema could be because of almonds so we have stopped even almond milk. But even before we started giving her almond milk, she had her eating/vomiting problems.

Otherwise she is very happy kid, can talk well for her age.

We didn't think much of it, thought she would grow out of it and accepted to feed her like this. But we did go to dubai for 10 days . During the 5th or 6th day she had a indigestion problem because of which she was throwing up every 5 minutes for 2 hours . Her throwing up was really bad. Like a lot of bile came out. At the end when given nux vomica she immediately stopped throwing up(first i thought it was gas (gave CV and asft) or food poisioning (gave ARS)). But after that her symptoms got better . And for like a month she was eating like a pro, all at once and no vomiting. no difficulty while eating . But then her symptoms came back slowly. This made me think this problem is fixable..

Since then i have been reading a lot and kept thinking why things got fixed during that one month. Is it possible she had some yeast overgrowth (or other things) which just came out during the massive vomitting. Can you please assist and help suggest remedies.

I have tried Nux vomica 30c, NAtphos 6x+arnica etc. These help, but her problem is still there.

To give on specifics on what I am giving her currently

Nat phos 6x 1-2 pills after every meal

Arnica wet dose twice a day

Bio Force 12 - twice a day before meals 10 drops. This has Nux vomica 6x

Please see the image attached for contents of this remedy

Nat mur 6x 3 pills, three times day.

This is helping her. But not 100% better. She always has had this after her heart surgery(at 9 months), with a gap of that one month I mentioned (after she threw up for 2 hours). During that one month she was 100% cured.

Like I said something in her stomach just was thrown out or the Nux Vomica was very much effective on a completely empty stomach after throwing up. But these are just my thoughts.

Its still early but I wanted to provide some feedback

Last night I gave her Nux Vomica 200ck (My local store did not have 200c).

Typically when she eats half her food, we give her a break. Today I kept going to give her a few more bites and she threw up (everything she ate as-is) .

Should I give her Nux Vomica 200ck every night for a few days? How many days?

Or should I just wait for a few days to watch the changes?

wanted to provide an update. I have been giving her Nux Vomica 200ck 3 pills every night (4 times now).

I can see she has been improving.

Last night she ate her meal in one go. Today morning, although with some difficulty, she ate all her meal in one go, 30 minutes, which was not possible earlier.

Can I continue the Nux Vomica nightly one dose . Please let me know if that would not be advisable?

lalitha1 6 years ago
ok..you can continue few more days..

report changes everyday so that i can tell you when to stop...
also you have to report about her general well being, any new symptoms etc.

Since Nux Vom 200, barring the first day, she has not vommitted yet.

No new symptoms so far. Generally she is a happy kid.

Her eczema is still there, but we are seeing a local doctor here for that. He has asked for steroid cream to be applied to confirm if it is eczema. I still think its from alomond milk (home made) which we have stopped since last 2 weeks.

Nux vomica can act on skin diseases tooo.. Please don't use any other medicines while taking homoeopathy.. It will disturb it's action.

Please watch changes over time...

okay. I wanted to provide update over the weekend.

The improvements we were seeing earlier is persisting. Her morning meal, which used to be most difficult has become easiest now. She does finish in 30 minutes. Lunch and Dinner also is better than earlier, though she takes longer, up to 1 hour sometimes (which is still better than before)

Although I don't particularly see any problems, maybe its just the quantity or texture. (Mornings are usually puree/smoothies, afternoon/night are rice). She is eating more than before as she is finishing quickly (than before) and then again asks for something else to eat.

She did throw up a bit (4-5 spoons) but more like a spit up than a vomit. Earlier when she would start throwing up everything would come out. It did not happen like that this time.

One thing that I have noticed is that, we have to be very punctual with her meal time. Even if her meal time is delayed by 15-30 minutes, I can see an effect of it in the meal time. As in she will resist more, arch more and look like she is gassy. And as a result takes longer to feed her.

Overall I would say its 75% better than a week before when we started the Nux Vomica.

One other change we have done since we started Nux Vomica is that we don't give her tap water. We buy spring water and use that for cooking her food and drinking purposes.

drthoufeequebhms 6 years ago
Sorry I did not notice that question earlier. There are no new eruptions in the skin. But last week I was using the topical cream so the existing ones are getting better too.

lalitha1 6 years ago
Please dont use topical application anymore..please wait for its change..

Since stopping Nux Vomica, I can see a difference. She is regressing back. While she was given Nux Vomica, she would eat 90% of the food without issues in 20-25 minutes. But now she has been cutting back with every meal. Yesterday, she started having problems after 75%, so had to give her a break , after which she does eat the rest. And today morning 40%.
