Anxiety from Arnica? How to stop it?

Hello

I read about a treatment for acid reflux (wet dose of Arnica 30c and Nat Phos 6x cell salt after meals) on this forum so I decided to try that and did it as instructed.

I took two doses of Arnica yesterday, no problems. Then I took another dose today morning and soon afterwards began to have awful anxiety, shakiness, restlessness, panic etc.

The strange thing is that I have taken Arnica 30c occasionally in the past (after getting a bruise or dental work etc) without any problems. Did I take it too much/frequently now or what went wrong?

It seems that for some reason I am very sensitive to many homeopathic remedies; they can cause me strange and unusual reactions also when prescribed in the classical way like you can see from my earlier post.

Cell salts have never caused me any problems so I don't think that's the cause here.

I have had similar anxiety like this in the past but why did Arnica bring it back now? Or is this a proving? And most importantly: how to stop it?

Thanks a lot

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
It will wear off by itself- you took too much.
Also the nat phos 6x is indicated for acidity/reflux
But you taper off the doses as you feel better.
The real cause is usually your diet - one has to address the food choices
As over time one can be consuming too much
Coffee/tea, spicy, chocolate, and acidic foods like tomato and citrus.
Not to mention soda and junk food. The body has a set point of alkaline
For our cells- google the acid/alkaline percentage
Of what you are eating and adjust, to get back in balance. I had one relative with severe reflux caused by eating a chocolate bar for some months before bed- he stopped that and after 2 weeks reflux was gone.

The arnica/nat phos combo is an "invention"
By joe de livera(who is not a dr or a homeopath)
Obviously when you took arnica for a bruise it was indicated-
You can google materia medica of any remedy
And see all the symptoms it is given for-new symptoms mean
Too many doses or too high a potency or remedy is wrong- they will subside
On their own.

Thanks

Yes, I know it's not the classical way to treat acid reflux but I read that many people had benefited from this combination so I decided to try it as well. I never could have imagined I would react like this.

I guess Nat Phos 6x would still be safe to take for acid reflux?

Hopefully this won't last for many days, it's very uncomfortable. I can't concentrate on anything right now because my mind is so messed up and whole body feels shaky.

You can take nat phos 6x 3 tabs half hour before or after eating 3x a day and reduce as you improve. Camphor antidotes arnica, you could try rubbing Vicks over a large part of skin and see if that speeds things up.

Do you mean Camphor as a potency or the tincture? Thanks

Neither. Since you are sensitive to remedies it is safer to just wait or try
Rubbing something with camphor in it on your skin- like tiger balm
Or Vicks vapor rub.

This reaction seems to be very stubborn... would a balsam that contains camphor and menthol but also Arnica be helpful here? I happen to have that at home.

I would not be using more arnica in any form.

Even those who are responding nicely to remedies can also suddenly develop sensitivity to remedies.

To stop the anxiety if it's persistent and requires anti doting, aconite and Ars Alb can be tried one by one.

Take them in 6c. Space the doses by 24 hours take one or two doses. If sensitive instead of oral, go for water based dose or sniffing dose.

Thanks for the advice. It's a mystery to me why almost every remedy seems to make me worse or cause a proving or aggravations. If you take a look at the my earlier post, I can't take Ars Alb, maybe Acon could work. But I will still wait a bit first.

Yes waiting out is the first and best strategy.

Turning sensitive to remedies is a new symptom and when the next case taking is done, it can also be included as a symptom. Sensitivity could also be reflective of --- one's stress; and the way they react to external stimuli could be changing.

I had mentioned strategies about how to take medicines if one is very sensitive or susceptible to medicines and they may be used to fine tune the dosage to make it gentle so as not to aggravate.

Can the oral dose be taken by putting one pill of Acon C6 to a water bottle and sniffing that? Or do I have to buy a liquid version of Acon C6 that contains alcohol and use that? Thanks

Traditionally a small vial will be used. So do not use liquid potency for sniffing. From this liquid potency bottle oral dose can be taken but not sniff doses.

You can prepare a bottle with 125ml of water, into which you can put one or two pills or drops into it for making a sniff solution. Also you can add a tablespoon or two of medicinal alcohol into it. This will preserve the solution as well as make you sure to help understand if you have sniffed one dose. Bland medicinal solution will not smell and one might be confused if the dose was taken or not. But when alcohol smell hits one can be sure that a dose has indeed been taken.

For next dose(if necessary), to fine tune one needs to shake this bottle up and down for four times just before the dose.

I happen to have only Aconitum 30C at home, would that be too high potency here? Thx

6c is first preference. 30c would be ok.
