Chelidonium - Hepatotoxic or safe?

Hello everyone,

Is Chelidonium Majuus mother tincture considered safe for people with a hepatic dysfunction (such as viral hepatitis or any other liver disease)?

I've researched a lot and a lot of sites consider the mother tincture to be hepatoxic, meaning toxic to the liver...

What's your view on this mother tincture?

I have been advised to take it thrice a day for my hepatitis A, i'm doing it but unsure because some say it helps, some say it's toxic to the liver...

Thanks in advance.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Ask your doctor if you have questions .. or you can try other remedies .. diluted form which a homeopath can only tell or prescribe.

Chelidonium is a major organ support remedy for liver. It's generally considered safe in mother tincture.

It's widely prescribed for liver complaints. It has specific affinity to liver.

A substance that may be toxic or can create adverse symptoms in it's physical form can also treat similar symptoms in an organism when it's potentised----that's the basic principle of homeopathy.

Some medicines are considered harmful in Mother Tincture form because they are not free of toxicity(for example snake remedies or even arsenicum), but chelidonium does not belong to that category.
