Is cod-liver oil good for incresaing immunity in kids and adults?

I have heard that adults and kids can take one capsule of cod-liver oil every day and it will help incresing their immunity. Can any body experience confim it?

I am hesitant as cod-liver oil has lots of vitamin A and extra vitaminA might become poisnous.
Experts commnets are appriciated.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
of course all depend on state of health of child envolved....

cod liver oil has demonstrated bactericidal properties--best use zinc supplement with --zinc initself associate with liver ability to allow vit A to free up for use--this where toxicity occur not freed for use----again need consider state of health before assuming noraml functions---as always based upon symptomology first then treat and add supplementation--no supplementation can help properly if underlying causation/blockage is in tact.. basic thinking though---best to use in unison with Vit E,B complx;calcium and zinc--as far as dosing--this is individual afair--always least and vary proportions according (again) to symptomolgy existing---

cod liver oil is basically vit A (retinol derivative). Via A is very very essential for eye, brain many health in our body.
best dietary source: liver, egg,
fish(cold water) the body absorbs most. Though tomao/carrot has lot beta carotene, but body can not produce retinol unless some other chem exists in our body. Beside it has omega 3 fatty acid. BUT you should be ery careful about vit a dose in our body. Overdose is VERY VERY toxin. you need to consult with doctor.
