This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
I have treated many cases of chronic Asthma with Nat Sulph 6c in the liquid dose which is made up as follows:

Get a 500ml bottle of Spring Water from your nearest supermarket.
Pour out 100ml
Drop in 3 pellets or 1 drop of liquid Nat Sulph 6c into the 400ml water
Cap the bottle tightly and succuss it 4-6 times by shaking the bottle in your hand to aerate the water.
Pour out 1 teaspoonful of the potentized remedy into half a cup of water from another bottle of the same water and stir it gently.
Sip 1 teaspoonful of the water from the cup just once daily.

You will have to stop all other medication if you wish to start on this therapy.

This remedy should be taken daily for some time in the future and you may like to know that I have many instances of adults who were chronic sufferers from Asthma for many years who do not use the remedy any more after about 4 months on this therapy. Others who were not so chronic react favourably in a few days and only use the remedy if and when necessary.

The remedy that I have used when the patient is having an acute attack ans is straining for breath is Ars Alb 200c. This remedy is taken dry and just 4 globules will suffice for a dose which may only be taken just once daily when the patient is gasping for breath. This usually clears the lungs and opens up the airways in under 20 minutes.

Report response in a week as this remedy has to be monitored in use regularly.

I have indicated a remedy that I have often used with over 90% success in Sri Lanka and it is up to you to decide whether or not you should use it for your 7 year old son in place of the inhaler that he now uses.

If he does not respond to this therapy, I shall indicate another after about a month.

Please note that the Nat Sulph 6c that I prescribed must be used in precisely the manner that I have indicated.

Hi Shiny,

You have written very good case history.

Please get following three remedies for your son:

1. Tuberculinum Bovinum 1M
2. Kali carb 200
2. Arsenic album 200

His treatment has following goals:

1. Reduce the intensity and frequency of nocturnal attacks
2. Reduce the need to use the corticosteroid inhaler.

To start with, give him Tuberculinum 1M,single dose,4-5 pills. If he is not having acute complaints presently, follow it up with kali carb 200, 4-5 pills, on the next night.

However, if he is having asthmatic symptoms curremntly, hold off on Kali carb.

Give him Arsenic album 200, 4-5 pills during an acute attack. You can give it every 4 hours till the symptoms improve. If otherwise, please post back about his condition here.

Take care...

Hi Magiccure
Thanks a lot for replying.Just want to know if i got it right.Have to give him TUB-B once 4-5 pills.Since presently the only symptom is nocturnal attack .I should give him Kali Carb 200c to following night. After that i don't give him anything further.I have to give him kali carb only once. But if the attack preceeds towards day time also then in that case i have to give him Ars Alb 200c (can b given every 4 hrs till symptoms settle down).Have i got it right.

Hi Shiny,

I am sorry but I think I have confused you a bit.
Since he is having nocturnal attacks presently, follow these instructions:

1. Give Tuberculinum Bov.1M, 4-5 pills at bedtime. SINGLE DOSE ONLY (one night only).
2. Give Arsenic Album 200, 4-5 pills, every 4 hours DURING acute nocturnal attack. (give first dose at the commencement of symptoms and wait for 4 hours before giving another dose,if needed)Stop giving Arsenic when the symptoms get better. (Please post back here if his symptoms are not better after taking Arsenic.)
3. About Kali Carb, I will let you know once we observe the effect of Tuberculinum and Arsenic.
Right now, start with Tuberculinum and Arsenic SOS.

Please let me know if you need any further clarifications. Please post back about his conditions atleast once in 2-3 days.

Take care...

Hi,
I am not a doctor but I am doing some research as to why too many kids are getting asthma recently (though there is no genetic factor).

I almost concluded that most of the time it is from intimidation. Too many rules and strict punishments at home. Treating them like adults as opposed to the children they are. Sending them to day care/school when they are not completely ready.

I am not sure if your household has any of these. Just thought I will let you know.

Thanks

Hi Magic cure
Gave him Tub last night i.e 01 april.Just a question is Tub same as TUB-B because i9 gave him Tub since the pharmacist told me that it's the same thing. So last night he slept peacefully. But that could also be the effect of the corticosteroids so will come to know within a day or two.Attack is generally post midnight say between 2-4 o' clock. So if that happens i will give ars 200.Lets's see how it works. Will keep you poste.
Thanks a lot
Shiny.

Hi Hemabindu
You have a point here.We were never strict with him but i guess we were little pushy. He started going to a playschool when he was 2 yrs and since he was quite a clingy child so the seperation anxiety was tough on him as well as on us.Though we have completely changed our attitude now but i guess the damage has been done.Do you have any suggestions.

Hi Shiny,

I am soooooooooo glad you realized this and changed now. There are several children that are subjected to this. Also, making a child sleep separately would encourage this too.

I do not really know how to rectify this but I am sure if you would somehow (with actions; not words) reassure him that you are always there for him, his recurring attacks would be reduced. You should treat him like a two year old who needed assurance... Please take him to therapy if needed.. But parents do a better job more than a therapist.

Also, please avoid giving him nebulizer as much as possible (I am sure you are already doing it) but do not go cold turkey.

Tub is same as Tub bov.

Hi Magiccure
As i told you that i gave him TUB-B 1m on the 1st apr that night he slept peacefully but as i had suggested could have been the effect of Steroid inhaler. So last night he woke up at 23:30 a.m Coughing ,i gave him 4 pills ars alb 200c ,which subsided the attack within 2-3 min.I would like to know does this mean that Tub-b did not work.Secondly ars is only to be used sos.Going by his earlier trend i know he will have another attack tonight. So could you suggest something which he takes before going to bed that would prevent the nocturnal attack. What about Kali Carb.

Hi Shiny,

The three remedies we are considering here are meant to serve different purposes.

Tuberculinum is given as an antimiasmatic and intercurrent remedy which helps to remove any blocks during the process of cure.
Arsenic is an acute remedy which is supposed to help him during an acute attack, and it should obviate the need to use inhaler.
Kali carb is his constitutional remedy, which is expected to help him in strenghthening his immunity, and taking care of his allergies. It will slowly reduce the frequency and intensity of nocturnal attacks, curing him completely after a couple of months.

Now, Tuberculinum HAS AND WILL CONTINUE to do its job. Arsenic can be given SOS, so dont worry about it. Kali carb is to be given during a comparitively healthy state, or during remission of disease, so might have to wait for that.

a few questions for you:

1. Did he have ONLY one attack during the whole night which subsided after SINGLE dose of Arsenic? Or did you have to repeat arsenic?

2. How long has he been having nocturnal attacks EVERY NIGHT? have you observed any pattern?

We will decide about Kali Carb once I hear from you.

Take care...

magicure last decade
Hi magiccure
He had another nocturnal attack .Gave him ars sos he was ok fr a while but started to cough again say after 15 min. thought it was too soon to givr ars again so i gave him asthalin and then he slept peacefully.Uptil now he has woken up only once guess it's just one attack but last night was the first time that he woke up twice .
The thing is if he takes the preventive inhaler which is the corticosteroid for 2 months continuosly then he will be fine for about 1 month anf then again the nocturnal attack will start and at this point if i give him asthalin (sos) then immidiately the attack will subside .His typical symptoms are waking up from sleep coughing, short ,deep coughs and then i can hear slight wheezing and as soon as i give asthalin all the symptoms will subside but if it carries on and i just keep giving him asthalin then after about 7-1o days he will have a full asthma attack i.e day and night.
Also i am fro India where children need to get up at 6:00 a.m in the morning so if he keeps getting up then he doesn't feel like waking up in the morning. These attacks are little distressing for himThanks for being there and taking out so much time.

Another question .Should i have given him ars again the second time.

Shiny

shiny last decade
Hi shiny,

Give your son Kali Carb 200, 3-4 pills, on clean tongue, before going to bed. SINGLE DOSE ONLY.

You can continue giving Arsenic SOS. You could give it two times a night, IF single dose doesnt help to subside the attack. So, at the onset of the symptoms, give first dose, wait for 15-20 minutes, if no relief, give another dose, wait for another 15-20 mins. Do NOT give more than two doses in a night.

Report back about his condition everyday.

Take care...

Thanks for all the help
