colon blockageMy mom has been suffering for the last 7 months with bowel issues. She has had 3 cat scans lots of blood test and recently an MRI. to this point no one has really said what is wrong. Dr has said she has a restriction in the area of her sigmoid colon. He doesn't know if its a tumor, diverticulitis. He wants to operate to remove that piece and then figure out what it could be. She is 76 years of age and I prefer to see what is going on and what I can give her to reduce the bloating in her stomach. Here symptoms are nausea, feeling of fullness, her stomach distends and you can hear the rumbling in her bowels. She can not eat and when she does have anything she often times want to vomit. Please help! I am at a loss and don't want to put my mom thru surgery if can be avoided. Thank you.

freeliving last weekThis thread continues beneath the following ad.Hello I am responding after 10 days of taking your recommendation.. We have been giving her also Cal Magnesium and 40 billion probiotics also. She is still having some of the same issues of eating/drinking has a huge bloat up on top.. She did have a few BM light and on Sunday she had a regular one but none since. She has wanted to eat different foods however I have limited them. I went to a homeopathic dr yesterday and they suggested she have the surgery to remove the sigmoid colon. Some of the diagnosis by the MD she has a definite colonic obstruction. The MRI shows colon is diffuse dilated to the level of proximal sigmoid colon where there is an abrupt transition to normal caliber. No definite intraluminal or extrinsic mass is identified by MRI no evidence of small bowel or colonic inflammation. small hiatal hernia, gastric contour is otherwise normal. Stool is identified in the rectum. The appearance is again most consistent with partial colonic obstruction which is likely related to either a focal colonic stricture or adhesion. this is what is being reported. So what can we do now? Is surgery the only way to go? Thank you.
