swelling in the knee
Hello,My uncle get recurrent accumulation of water in the knee. He is getting it removed every two months when the pain is unbearable. He is around 50 years and having this problem for the last 5 years.
Symptoms are as follows
1. Swelling of Knee
2. Stiff joints
Also he is a Alcoholic.
Can you suggest a remedy for him?
Somebody told me Rhus Tox. Is this the right one? If so what is the right potency and the period for which he should be administered this medicine.

Rhus is one of the remedies for that condition.
If he is alcoholic you could be on a loser anyway , and the mere fact of alcholism point to Sulfur 1M. 3doses ONLY.
Stiffness -- if it is better after the more it is moved then Rhus is correct. If WORSE on moving then that points to Bryonia , NOT Rhus.

what happened 5 years ago?concerning knee?
he ever have cortosone/steroid shot in that knee?
what other complaints he have?what meds he using for other things?

5 years ago, he met with an accident in the right knee.
The right knee was crushed and he was operated with lots of metals going as knee cap.
During recovery he suggest that he had to put lot of pressure on his left knee and this might be the reason why the left knee ball and socket assembly seems to have worn out.
Pls note that the water swelling is present only in the left knee.
What is the ideal remedy for him?
