I THINK it's an ear infection (Adult)

I had an ear infection several years ago and when it started out, it felt like I may have had strep throat because that is what was hurting me the most. This time however, I was a little more observant. Friday morning I noticed that my ears were extra 'runny' (they do that from time to time.) As the day went on, my throat began to ache which later accompained a slight headache. (Which was only made more difficult since I teach 1st graders) By about 10PM, I had a fever of 101F. I barely slept even after taking acemetophine (sp) - it only 'doped' me up. That next morning (at about 7) I felt a lot of mucous, but when I blew my nose - nothing! I blew and blew and blew, and finally small yellow clumps with traces of red came, but only temporary relief. I still felt extreme pressure in an area that seems like it's BEHIND my nose. Right about now (6AM Sunday), I feel miserable and my ears keeping feeling like they are popping like when I'm on an airplane. I just gargled with salt water b/c it feels like my throat has been closed in my boulders and my fever is not as bad as the first night, but I am still exceptionally warm (in my body) and cold (on the outside.) I am also fasting from sun up to sun down which is good anyway on account of I dont have much of an appetite. I have a very busy life and this is keeping me from functioning as I am VERY listless and tired and ANNOYED.

*Addition, I do take children's vitamins (adult ones are too strong for me) everyday and echinachea every other day.

I need CONFIRMATION as to what this is and RELIEF!!!

1. The headache was really mild and has since calmed down. It would come and go and was in the front of my head. No specific side.

I had to go to the store the next day and grabbed a nasal decongestant. It helped a lot and the pressure seemed to have been a lot of swelling rather than mucous. My throat is no longer sore like it was, but every few hours or so I'm still reminded that there is probably an infection in my nasal passages.

2. The 'drip' has gone from
yellow to bright green.
3. There is mild constipation but I think that is from the medication?
4. No pain in the abdomen at all and I'm having a very very difficult time sleeping.
5. My face is not swollen but I'm generally bloated because of my menstral cycle.

my cycle started three days after the congestion. it was right on its normal schedule. sudafed was what I began to use and stopped last evening. and it's only been a year that i've really been having sinus problems. this is completely new to me. i was tested for asthma because i was having severe wheezing and coughing last year and a friend that's a med student suggested taking alavert for a couple of days and i haven't had that problem since. but again, this sinus pressure (which feels like it's behind my head) and earaches are new to me.

at what point was sudafed taken?wha were the existing symptoms just before sudafed was taken?

explaination you asked...ok last year suppressed sinus symptoms (not certain exact symptomoogy we havent got that far yet)-in particular case it has na anual characteristic-return of modified symptomology --body's response to rid it self of ilness suppressed last year---not sure of health history prior --but most lke sinus problem last year was consequence of some previos ocurrance--ut we start here and bit by bit relieve..illness---of course non suppressively- hope that helps ..questions?

helps somewhat. i realize i need to get a full health exam though because my symptoms and problems are simply see-sawing back and forth and I believe it must be indicative of perhaps something more serious. Generally I dont have any other problems other than a cold and stress headaches and that's not that often. This has been going on too long though and as a teacher, I can't really function like this. My eye has been red all day with a dull pain around the sides of my head.

I thank you for your responses and your attempts to help, but again, I believe I need a physical examination to make a better assesment because guesswork is just making my nerves bad. Thank you.
