Alopecia Areata

I am very, very new to homeopathic remedies, but I have been reading a lot on this forum about the decolorized iodine and arnica for alopecia. I can't seem to get it all straight. Would someone please put it all in VERY simple terms what I need to do to get my hair back. I have had AA off and on for 18 years. I have now lost about 75% of my hair and I would really love to get it back. I also had thyroid cancer 10 years ago and as a result have no thyroid. I take .2 mg synthroid daily. I would like to know there would be any harm in using the decolorized iodine topically? Thanks so much
