Antidoting Question

I came across a site that gave a rather thorough write-up/opinion on antidoting homeopathic remedies. It is said to be written by a team of certified homeopaths who teach in Washington State.

To my surprise I read that a remedy process can be antidoted several months after taking the remedy. For instance, one could take a dose of natrum mur, they have no migraines for months and then accidently eat a coffee flavored chocolate and the migraines return.

Am I to understand that once you are on a homeopathic path to healing and are getting good results you are best to never again chance an antidoting factor?

HHHmmm?

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Antidote is used to remove the bad effects only not the good one. Some physician were in habit of prescribing homeopathic remedies in the coffee.Homeopathic remedies are powerful substances. Can you imagine weaker remedies can cure a disease.

Hello Blossom ,

Homeopathic drugs start a chemical reaction that stimulate the nervous system in a positive manner thereby bringing in a cure.

Anti-dotes..start a chemical reaction to reverse the process.

Coffee, as you know stimulates the nervous system...and acts as a major anti-dote for many homeoapthic meds. (Not for all meds though).

So your statement is not surprising.

Would other homeopaths give their views on how homeopathic drugs and anti-dotes work.

Thanks

Hello PANKAJ and others.,

Here is an article on antidoting on which we would like to receive comments on from everyone here.

I had a similiar experience but it was not this drastic. Thanks.

Debbie's health improved dramatically from Sulphur. Her vaginal irritation was improved, her hemorrhoids were gone, her premenstrual symptoms were no longer a problem, and her energy was much better. That is, until she ate some coffee flavored cookies at a Christmas party. 'A week later my constipation, hemorrhoids, and vaginal itching. returned. I felt dramatically different. After feeling so good for seven months after taking Sulphur, my health took a nosedive. My energy lagged. I had headaches, mood swings, and premenstrual acne again. By mid-January, I couldn't stand feeling so bad anymore. I went back to get another remedy. Make sure those cookies don't have espresso in them. It's really not worth antidoting your remedy!'

Hello Pat,
Sulphur is a long acting remedy...very frequently used to neutralise psoric miasm.

Three doses of Sulphur in high potency can keep working on the system for about 1-1/2 to 3 months....depending upon the constitution of the individual.

So coffee taken after a month of giving the med can still anti-dote in some way the emerging benefits.

Best wishes,

Pankaj,

WhatI find hard to believe and understand is how a remedy taken three months ago can still be antidoted by coffee. Not sure if I should be skeptical of the article, but it seems to be well written.

I had a similiar experience but with a remedy I have been taking on a regular basis for a problem that I have not found a long term cure for.

Pat,
If the medicine is still in the process of creating the metabolic changes in a 3 month period...like in case of Sulphur , Calcarea Carb, Thuja and some more meds...which are long acting remedies...then an antidote ... if introduced during the period the med is creating the metabolic changes....will regress the process of cure.

Best wishes,

I made a mistake. The article said seven (7) months not three (3) months.

Then it is not the coffee...she misread the situation.

She probably needed another dose of Sulphur (preferably in a higher potency) to complete the cure.

She, however, mistook it for anti-doting effect of coffee.

Long acting meds require a repeat after 1-1/2 to 3 months..depending upon when the impact of the earlier dose(s) has declined.

A matter of co-incidence that she ate the coffee cookies at a time when the curing impact of Sulphur dose was on the decline.

Best wishes,

Many thanks for your responses and the subsequent discussion. I wasn't aware that the internal process that long acting remedies initiate took several months or more. I have taken a couple doses of Sepia 200C and had wonderful results for a few weeks at a time and then the symptoms returned. The results were so desirous that I really had to consider the antidoting possibilities... and see that I will have to give up coffee too (already gave up smoking and mints 2 weeks ago which were both ingrained habits) if I hope to make any real progress with homeopathy. BUT, I sensed it would be and will be well worth the 'sacrifice'.

Hello Blossom

Many thanks to you for posting the question. I had just read this article on the internet yesterday and found it interesting to see your post on the subject.

Have you looked into previous posts here where people claim that Arnica Wet Dose as recommended by Joe De Livera has helped them quit drinking and smoking completely effortlessly without any sacrafices?

Pat,

Thank you for the suggestion. Gratefully I am really not finding it that trying to stay stopped. I am using a couple flower essences (nicotaina & walnut) which are similair to homeopathics although their action is specific to the psycho-spiritual/mental/emotional levels. Moreover the relief that has come of taking the Sepia on a couple of occassions has diminished the dis-ease and triggers that lead to cravings. I'm really quite in awe of what 'energy medicines' have done for me (so far).
