7 year old and her nagging headache
7 year old and her headache -We tried Bryonia first and then a combination of Nux Vomica 30 in wet dose and one dose of 4 pellets Sulphur 200c. Her headache seems to have come down a lttle bit but she still complains of a nagging headache that is driving all of us nuts. HELP!History:
My 7 year old had a bad bout of coughing in the last week of March. The doctor tried antihistamines first and then put her on zythromycine 5 day antibiotics which took care of the cough. She still had headaches so the doctor asked us to get a sinus x-ray. Sure enough she had a sinus infection. She was then treated for sinus infection with a 10 day supply of amoxycillin. She now has a headache that stays from morning to night. We have tried many pain killers. Advil is the only one that gives minor relief. The doctor did a blood test to check her blood count and asked for another sinus x-ray. Both the tests had good results but the headache continues. We did an MRI and the results came back normal. This is a big relief for us. Now, we need to figure out what to do to rid her headache.

I am sorry to see that the Bryonia and the other remedies that were suggested for your daughter's headache have not helped to resolve it so far which I believe is for over the last week.
May I suggest that you use the Homeopathy Software which you can see at the top of this page and see what remedy it indicates for her ?
Bryonia has not failed me even for migraines which were very acute but your daughter's case may be better investigated by the software or perhaps by an experienced homsopath whom you can consult in your city.
In the meanwhile I hope that you are not dosing her with any analgesics as they will only make a bad situation infinitely worse.

Cough...expectoration..greenish yellow/ watery/thick...from nose or dropping in the throat??

Her pain is all around the head - she says kind of like a band. No problems with eyes. However, we are getting her sight tested next week. No skin eruptions. No Blurred vision . No cough or cold or any other symptoms. No family history of headaches on both sies of the family.

Her digestion is good.
I have Nux Vomica 30c and will give that 4 times as suggested and post feedback.
I bought a combination homeopathic spray for sinus colds and sinus headache 3 days back from a Whole foods store. However, this does not seem to be working either.
This morning she said her head hurt and her leg hurts (near the knee). This is what she has been saying for weeks now.
I asked the pediatrician and all she says is that she will refer us to a neurologist. I want to avoid going to a specialist and am hoping that it will go away with homeopathy.

if knees hurting with headache combine with supression----thats lachesis...

but dont need have purple throat for lachesis..that is but one characteristic.....it seem patient follow your advice anyway---i best allow this one alone...carry on pankaj--

She has no throat pain. Other than knees hurting and headache through the day, she has no other problems.
So the suggestion is to give Nux Vomica first and then lachesis. Will lachesis 30c work if I cannot find the 200c?

use nux-v30c --1 pellet in 4 oz water stir heavy...give before bed...one dose and access from there..
also have daughter avoid acid foods and drinks for now(coffee;teas;fruits and fruit juices;vinegar;pickled foods;...etc)
no lachesis for now---what see what response is from nux-v ...could be pulsatlla
p.s.
how is child responding to this headache and such?how have you observed her frame of being change since the onset of cough til now?please explain

Before seeing this mail I have already given her 2 doses (5 pellets) of Nux Vomica 30c twice today. Should I give her one pellet before going to bed? I will avoid acidic foods. She loves fruit.
Observation from onset of cough to now: She was miserable when she was coughing and kept coughing nonstop. However, since she looks fine. Other than the fact that she says her head and knee(behind the knee joint) hurts very often, she goes to school and does ok. I keep asking the teachers to excuse her from PE because she says her head ad knee hurts when she runs, swings, etc. We are so worried because it has been over a month since the headache started. The MRI scan was normal.

Yes, the headache is continuous, pretty much there from morning till night. Any medicine we give, she says there is a tiny bit of relief (not sure if she says that just to please us) but the headache remains.
We know she is not lying to get attention because she has never done this before and she loes going to school.
Last Friday, I got a combination Liddell oral spray for Sinus Congestion and Headache from Whole Foods. I used to spray one spray every 4 hours or so under her tongue. We are travelling overseas to India this weekend and hence worried that she continuous to have headache.

Pankaj, I don't think so. It seemed like the spray worked over the weekend since I was using it every 4 hours. Today, I feel the pain has increased. She still goes to school, etc but constantly complains.
We are getting her eyes checked on Thursday to see if her headache is because of eyesight problems.

Her headache started before she was diagonised with sinus infection. We thought it would disappear after she was treated for sinus infection. The doctor asked for sinus x-ray's before and after treatment and confirmed that the sinus infection is gone.
She was absolutely fine without any health problems before she had a cough. She had not visited a doctor in over a year.

It was a dry cough - no flem. We went to Houston for spring break. She had a mild cough that morning and then she had a icee and it seemed like she did not stop coughing after that. We stayed in Houston just for a day and rushed back. She just kept coughing and coughing non stop. We gave her all kinds of cough medicine but it would not go away till the antibiotic was introduced. The coughing lasted 10 to 15 days.
