sever coughing
Hi,I was just wondering if anyone could help me out. I am looking for a remedy that would help my mom. She has sever coughing and she is not getting any better. We have been to the doctors and they told us to take some Reactine, but its not working, and she keeps on getting worse. Is there anything esle she can try? It has come to a point where, when she starts coughing, she cant stop...it like takes over, hard for her to breathe sometimes too...please help!

sorry for the delay, but here is the answers:
Age of patient? 40
When it started? april 1, 2006
How it started? from a cold
When this aggravates? after she had gotten some what better the heavy coughing started
How she get relieved? medicine -- cough surpus
Is there any effect or weather? weather is getting hotter here in canada
Is there any difference on lying down and sit up? no - even when she laying down she starts coughing out of no where
What about thirst? no she drinks water to claim the cough down
Is there any expectoration? no
If yes then what colour?
Is there rattling cough? sometimes, it is mostly a dry cough and sometimes mukis comes up when coughing
Any breathing problem? no only when she has to cough soo much she can't breathe somethimes
Any hot or cold feeling? nope
Any change when going out? nope
Is she feel thirsty? no - she drinks to relax the coaugh
If yes then how much she drink? about 1 glass
