Dystonia - Dr. Deoshlok Sharma

Dystonia is a neurological disorder causing involuntary, sustained muscle contractions that result in repetitive movements, twisting and abnormal postures. An estimated 300,000 people in North America have dystonia.
Primary treatments for dystonia alleviate symptoms by adjusting movement-related nerve signals or temporarily immobilizing targeted muscles. In more severe cases, surgery may be used to disable or regulate certain brain regions or nerves.

Sign & symptom of dystonia-
Focal dystonia is limited to muscles in a specific region: a single limb, eyelids, jaw and tongue, vocal cords, or neck.
Segmental dystonia affects two or more parts of your body adjacent to each other.
Multifocal dystonia affects two or more regions not adjacent to each other.
Generalized dystonia affects all or nearly all of your body.
Hemidystonia affects only one side of your body.
For most people, symptoms begin in a single region, but they may spread. Sometimes, they may be linked to a specific action. For example, you may experience involuntary contractions in one leg when walking forward but not when running forward or walking backward.
Dystonia in a specific region usually progresses so that contractions are more frequent or not limited to a specific kind of action. It may also progress to other regions of the body. Rates of progression vary significantly, but symptoms usually plateau within a few years.
Stress, fatigue or anxiety may temporarily worsen symptoms. Dystonia may be less apparent when you're relaxed or your limbs are at rest, and the contractions usually cease when you're in a deep sleep.
The affected region of the body may provide clues to the progression of the disorder. When it begins in a leg, especially during childhood, dystonia is more likely to progress to generalized dystonia. When it begins in a single location in the upper body, it may progress to other regions, but it's not as likely to become generalized.
The age of onset itself offers clues to progression. If the disorder appears in childhood or early adolescence, it's quite likely to progress to generalized dystonia, but dystonias developing well into adulthood rarely generalize to the whole body.
The impact of dystonia on a person's quality of life varies depending on the part of the body affected and the severity of contractions. For example, dystonia of the eyelids, with rapid blinking or squinting, can be so severe as to make a person functionally blind. Dystonia of the neck muscles may cause severe pain. Dystonia of the jaw and tongue muscles may cause slurred speech or difficulty eating or swallowing. Severe dystonia in the limbs or the neck can result in contracture of tendons and permanent distortion in posture.
Some types of dystonia are limited to a specific, repetitive task. Common versions of this include writer's cramp or musician's cramp, the involuntary and often painful contraction of the hand and arm muscles used in writing or playing an instrument.
For a few people with dystonia, symptoms may go away or become extremely mild for a period of months or years, but the symptoms usually reappear.

Dear Robert/Jalen

Dr. Sharma rarely takes a case on the forum.

Usually these are information posts only as
you can see other people did not get treated.

It seems your problems are due to the
fire and medication taken.--------

Please do a new thread- I would ask for
Dr. Mohla or Rishimba in your headline,
they are both real homeopaths.

To make the thread:

Look above the very first post on the forum.
Click on the button: Post New Topic

That will create a treatment thread for you.

Spasms of lower jaw? If so, please take Veratrum album 6c, three time daily for 4 weeks then report back.
[Edited by Tui on 2018-03-17 01:54:54]

Tui 6 years ago
Try Veratrum album 6c, three times daily for 4 weeks and report back please.

You can take 2 pills as a dose or if you don't want to take so many pills then get 30 ml dropper bottle, filled with 2/3 spring or distilled water and 1/3 of alcohol (brandy or vodka). Put 3-4 pills in the bottle and take 7 drops (as 1 dose) from there.

This way, you don't need to spend much money if you don't want to and it works just fine as a pill form.

Ah, and don't forget to shake the bottle ( 4 - 5 times) every time before you take it.

Thank you for the reply, I am new to homeopathic medications but have researched this medicine and am finding it's uses are for diarrhea and vomiting. How does this help with Jaw muscular spasms?

DKMIN 6 years ago
Verat is a very good remedy for acute diarrhea, but it also covers many other symptoms, including spasms and cramps of lower jaws.

Tui 6 years ago
Hi, I ordered the medication last weekend, still awaiting the delivery. Homeopathy is about the body healing itself, right? The medication helps do that? Will I have to take this for life if it works or can it cure the issue? I have been dealing with this for a decade and spent a lot of money on specialists. I first thought it was TMJ, had splints made, took x-rays, etc. A recent doctor I saw believes it is oramandibular dystonia. It is incredibly embarrassing when I am speaking at work and my jaw spasms open and it slure my speech. I am very anxious to try this medication, I really hope it works!

DKMIN 6 years ago
The homeopathic remedy works by stimulating our vital force (natural healing power that we all have).

The vital force becomes weak over many years of stress, medications, environmental pollution and also from negative thoughts.
So once the vital force is start working again after taking a right remedy, we heal ourselves.

I have previously suggested you to take Verat 6c three times a day for a month, but you can just take for a week and see how your body react to the remedy.
If nothing happens, you need to change the remedy and try other remedies. There are over 5000 homeopathic remedies now.

Causticum might be a better remedy for you if Verat doesn't work.

Tui 6 years ago
Thank you so much for the information, I will update you once I get the Verat 6c delivered and I start taking it. If this works I will be so grateful to you!

DKMIN 6 years ago
Hi, the medicine arrived today. I was shocked to find that the serving is 3-5 pellets and you stated 3 times a day. Should I take 3 each time or only 1? I only bought one tube of 80 pellets assuming 1 pellet per serving. I read to take them sublingually without food or water +/- 15min and will do so that way.

Thanks

DKMIN 6 years ago
You can just take 1 pellet 3 times a day for a week and see how you goes.

And it is always good to keep a record, including date, time, noteworthy symptoms so it will be easy to review after a week or two if there are any changes.

Tui 6 years ago
Hello, thought I would post an update, been 6 days. I take one pill three times a day under the tongue with no liquid or food +/- 15min.

I have noticed no improvement, yesterday was one of the worst days in a few weeks actually.

Let me know your thoughts, thanks.

DKMIN 6 years ago
Sometimes the symptoms become worse after taking the homeopathic remedy and may last for 2-3 days. This is called homeopathic aggravation and it is usually a good sign if it followed by amelioration, however, in your case, I don't think the remedy is helping so please stop taking it and wait for a while before starting a new remedy.

And it will take some time to see any improvements in chronic conditions (chronic means you have the condition for more than 6 months) so you sometimes need to be patient.

I also understand that you do not want to spend money on remedies, but it will be very difficult to find just one remedy to get rid of all your problems.

So, I have selected just a hand full of remedies which may help to improve your condition.

Alumina 30c

Botulinum 30c

Cuprum metallicum 30c

Zinc metallicum 30c

If you decided to go on with homeopathy, then I would suggest you to buy the remedies. (You don't have to buy them all at once, but just buy one at a time)

Also, please feel free to make a new post and ask other homeopath's opinion. I believe there are some very good homeopaths on this forum.

Tui 6 years ago
I did start with a post and got the below reply. The reason I replied to this thread is because it was a specific ongoing thread related to Dystonia. Again, my spasms are jerky and quick, not slow like a lot of dystonia you see.

"Please take the following remedies twice a day for 10 days and report back...
Staphysagria 30
Belladonna 30
Mag Phos 30
Calcarea Fluorica 30

One dose means 2 pills or drops each of all 4 remedies at a time"
