Prolonged Antacid usage, B12 & folic acid

Dear Doctor,

From march 2005 to july 2005, I took lot of antacid tablets (pantacid) for gas problems. Ever since July, I have seen lot of indigestion of food. I see lot of items to go undigested in the stool. My doctor prescribed me B12 injections with folic acid and pancreaflat tablets which made my digestion better. I took these medicines in Dec 2005. I took those tablets for 1 week. The problems have been recurring every now and then even now. I am wondering i have any irreversible digestion problems or can they be treated at all.

I really appreciate any advice in this regard.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Nat Phos 6x should help your digestive problem which is the reason for your feeling of fullness due to the formation of gas. Dose 3 tablets taken twice daily immediately after meals.

You are also advised to eat small meals but you may eat more often till your digestive system stabilizes.

You must stop other medication if you decide to use this therapy.

Thanks a lot Joe. I really appreciate it. I have a couple more questions. I am 26 years old. My gas problem reduced a bit but digestion of the food is not proper. The stool is semi solid to solid and floats in the water. I see some vegetables/nuts come undigested just as if it happens when diarrea occurs due to antibiotics. Will this problem be solved with the above NatPhos6x. Also, could you tell where I can get these medicine in US.

We can first see how the Nat Phos 6x helps your condition and then take it from there.

I live in Sri Lanka and cannot help you to get this remedy. I was informed that it is available in health food shops in the US.

Look for NHP or Boiron brands. Both are made in the US.
