Kidney Stone First Time

Hi I'm 26 male from India with normal weight. Actually 4 days back I got a sudden pain in the night while sleeping in my abdomen and thought its gas or something so took warm water and the pain subsided in an hour. The second night again around same time I got this pain and took an analgesic and I could feel the pain towards right side of abdomen below the ribs and slightly in my back too.
Finally I decided to go to doctor and first I was given medicine for acidity etc which didn't help. So finally today I got an ultrasound and x-ray done. The ultrasound report says this.... 'There is moderate hydronephrosis of right kidney with dilatation of upper ureter. The cause of this was ascertained to be an upper ureteric calculus measuring 6.8mm in size'.
It also says this about left kidney... 'An echogenic focus with posterior shaadowing is seen in the lower pole calyx of the left kidney. This measures 6.1 mm in size.' In the end reports says 1. Right ureteric calculus. 2. Left renal calculus.

The radiologist told me that left stone isn't causing pain as its inside the kidney while the right one is causing pain since its moving and its in this tube below the kidney. She also said that this stone will pass out on itself.

Further I was referred to a urologist who is asking me to get an IVP (Intravenous pylegogram) done to see if this stone will get out itself or a Lithotrispy needs to be done. He also has given some medicines for 5 days. My blood pressure is slightly high too 140/90 which doctor says is due to stone but has asked me to reduce salt intake.

Now the thing is that my dad who knows homeopathy is asking me not to get any IVP done and not to take allopathic drugs. He has suggested me the following medication which will dissolve the stones in around a week or two maximum.
1. Lycopodium 1M
2. Nux vomica 30
3. Sarsaperila 30
4. Berberis vulgaris mother tincture

I'm myself convinced that homeopathy has better cure for kidney stones.
The only thing is I'm having slight constant pain in right abdomen though its bearable. Also I'm taking plenty of water and juices.

If you could please advise if I should go the homeopathy way immediately or get further tests done. I'm slightly confused.

The main thing I want to know is if the stone will dissolve even in this tube the doctor is mentioning about?

I would really appreciate if someone could reply to me soon. Thanks a ton in advance.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
I use
Berberis vulgaris mother tincture
Lycopodium 30.

Some times stones come out fast and get stuck in the passage so I also recommend

Equisetum Q.

In addition Sarsaparilla 3x is a good way of 'defurring' the nephrones.

One tablet a day for a week every so often will keep the kidneys in good nick.

Hi, thanks for your replies.
I have bought the medicines today and will start with them tonight. Will keep you updated.

Well my pain has moved little down in the abdomen now... I wonder if the stone is moving towards the bladder?

I am copying a post I have made on another Homeopathic forum which gives details of the therapy I have used some years ago. Since that time, I have been successful in dissolving and expelling over 12 Kidney Stones and it can be presumed that your Kidney stone can also be dissolved and expelled
The remedy I used is Berberis Vulgaris 6c in the Wet dose taken twice daily and this appeared to have dissolved the Calculus which was Calcium Oxalate Crystals in about 3 months as there was only one in a recent Xray which was causing excruciating pain for which his doctor has prescribed 2 tablets Ponstan twice daily which was barely able to control his pain.

I gave him Colocynthis 200c in the dry Lactose Pellets and he took 3 doses each of 6 pellets sublingually in 2 days and reported that he felt excruciating pain in his abdomen which seemed to be moving downwards in the evening of the second day. He had a light dinner and shortly after brought it all up. He could not sleep but went to the toilet in the early hours of the morning where he had fainted with the pain when he was passing urine which was bloody and he had expelled the stone.

He is now fully recovered and does not experience any pain. I have however given him Ciprofloxacin 500 taken twice daily for 6 days to cover any possible infection in the Ureter and the Urethra which can occur due to the laceration in the passages.

I would like to share with members the therapy I used a few days ago to treat a Kidney Stone which can be useful to members who may be diagnosed with one or who may find that a friend suffers from a Kidney Stone. It is interesting to note that modern medicine does not seem to have any treatment for Kidney Stones other than shattering them with a Lithotrypter or by using drugs to dissolve them which usually does not seem to help the patient quickly. This patient had been under treatment by specialists of the General Hospital in Colombo for some months but with no amelioration of his condition.

He presented with acute pain in his back which had been diagnosed by specialists as Kidney Stones. An Xray did not show any shadows but his Urine report showed that he had Calcium Oxalate Crystals ++.

I gave the patient Berberis Vulgaris 6c in the Wet Dose but this did not help him for a week as this remedy works slowly to dissolve the stones. On the 8th day he reported acute pain radiating down from his right kidney and was unable to stand erect. I diagnosed that a stone had been discharged from his right kidney and that it was blocking his right Ureter. I gave him 6 pellets Colocynthis 200 in the DRY Dose which he took sublingually at around 7.00PM. He reported on the morning after that he had woken up around 2.00AM with excrutiating pain, the likes of which which he had never suffered before in his life. The pain radiated from his back down through his abdomen on the right side and down to the bladder. His urine was bloody shortly after.

He had passed the stone with just one dose of Colocynthis 200 and he is now completely free of all pain and discomfort. A urine test does not show any signs of Calcium Oxalate Crystals.

I am recording this incident in the hope that members will remember that Colocynthis 200 in the DRY dose has an almost miraculous effect in dislodging Kidney Stones. Berberis Vulgaris 6c in the Wet Dose will slowly dissolve the Calculi and it helped this patient to dislodge the stone that was in his right kidney and its passage through the Ureter caused him this unbearable pain which was so bad that he had passed out for a short while.

I have advised him to take a teaspoonful of Berberis V 6c in the Wet Dose daily to ensure that his urine does not cause another Kidney Stone to form and to also drink at least 3 liters of liquids daily.

I read this post and I wondered if I could give this dose ( Colocynthis) to my 9 year old dachshund who has at least 8 stones in her left kidney. At times she passes blood in her urine.

Thanks

I have never treated a dog with multiple Kidney Stones but am confident that my therapy as outlined above in previous posts can help her.

You cannot use Colocynthis right away as it has to be used when the stones have been dissolved and are ready to be discharged.

Start with Berberis Vulgaris 6c in the Wet dose taken twice daily and when she shows some signs of pain which will be when the stones are in the Ureter going into the bladder, you can then give her the Colocynthis 200 to dislodge them.

Hi Joe De Livera

how nice of you to reply to me...someone else has written their problem through my thread and so I saw this reply from you only today...this is the turn in the whole story of Dashu's kidney stone....

''The vet said the stones were never in the kidney...they were always in the bladder...the previous vet made a gross mistake when he misread the earlier X Ray he had done..

The present vet told me that the stones could be due to a metabolism failure...as they are so many in number. He is running tests of her blood and urine. And has said that the stones can be removed only by surgery. So I have to get ready for that.

The vet took her BP and it was recording very high 180/118. And he confirmed her heart was enlarged to an extent. He has given a paste called 'Carni Paste' to strengthen her heart muscles. i give her 1.5ml once a day and shes on a tablet called 'Nephrotec DS' by the Himalayan drug company. And that's twice a day.'

Parakletos has been trying to read up more on this.

Thanks

The vet who mistook calculi in the bladder for kidney stones should be reported for this type of error.

I do not think that stones in the bladder in a dog can be dissolved but you can always give Berberis V 6c in the Wet dose a chance to see if it can dissolve stones in the bladder.

It will certainly ensure that stones do not form in either the kidneys in future.

Dear Joe De Livera,

I am back with a new problem. I am so tired of my little Dach baby having some problem or the other n most of them putting me in turmoil.

She has has a recurrent right eye lid inflammation, for the past 1 month. The Vet treated her with antibiotic and she was healed completely.

Less that 10days down the line her left eye developed infection and looked just like the previous eye. So I treated her with azythromycin eye ointment. But suddenly it turned for the worse and her eyes turned blue and opaque. They were swollen and blood shot with a sag in the lower lid.

I rushed her to the hospital and the Vet said that she had chronic conjunctiva and corneal Edema.

He has prescribed her Clidamycin Tablets (antibiotic) and Visiocare eye ointment for 7 days and then I have to get back to him for a review.

I have given her , her 3rd dose of the tablet and her eye looks slightly better. But the red sad of the lower water line looks so so bad and sad. It hurts looking at it.

Can we help her with homeopathy. As I was reading that the conjunctivitis reoccurs in most pets.

I am terribly worried about her. She is a live wire in my life these 11 years. I am so scared of her sight being affected, though it is not now.

In-fact, she has had a blue circle around her.

Thank you so much.

Dawn
