heat rash on face

Hi I am a 41 year old female with acne which I can ususally keep under control. I am on Synthroid for hypothyroidism and am overweight. At the very beginning of summer, I had an outbreak but was able to control it wih Proactiv. When that cleared up I used a cleanser and toner for normal/combination skin and that worked all month to the point I didn't need to wear make-up. Now I have broken out again with what appear to be a heat rash tiny bumps no pus. On my forehead, I can keep them under control by scrubbing a little with a damp face cloth when cleansing but the bottom of my face is harder to control. We have had a heatwave and I am positive that this is a reaction to my extra sweating and sunscreen. I have had a problem with sunscreen on my face forever...
Can someone please suggest how to get rid of this rash (it doesn't itch just looks like acne).

What can I do to prevent this and are there any really hypoallergenic sunscreens? I have tried just about every brand including Proactiv and although I tolerate all their other products, I break out from their suncreen.

The dermatologists did not help in the past...they just tell me to keep applying suncreen. Vicious circle...

Sorry for the long post I am desperate!!! Thanks

I think your instincts are right about the pimples being a reaction to the sunscreen . If you have acne prone skin, you need to be really careful about what you put on your face as many creams contain fats and oils whihc are just too heavy and block pores. I think this is what you have - blocked pores. Go for a sunscreen that is non-comeodgenic and hypo-allergenic - and make sure your moisturiser is too. I can recommend UK brands but if you are in US i don't know! Best of luck

Hi Carlotta thanks for your post. I always buy hypoallergenic and non comedogenic suncreens for sensitive skin--that is what is so frustrating! That's why I mentioned that I tried the Proactiv sunscreen since their skin care line is for acne and even that didn't work--I am not promoting anything here, just saying what I used.I am not in the US so if you want to mention some brands go for it. Oil of Olay light for sensitive skin use to work for me but then they changed it. Garnier was good until the heat wave started...any other suggestions? All of the others coppertone, banana boat, ombrelle, don't work for me at all.

Hey there! I know that I have to be really careful about what i put on my face too - the wrong cream and - Bang - i get a breakout. The sunscreens that i agree with that I've used this year are ones by Simple and Avene. The best skincare line I've found is by The Organic Pharmacy . They're expensive but they don't use anything but the best quality botanicals, with no parabens and mineral oils etc. Otherwise I like Simple . Worth monitoring your diet to see if there's any correlation between what you're eating and your skin - Ive cut out dairy and noticed enormous difference.
If none of the above helps and you want to go deeper via the homeopathic route - go seek John Stanton out. He helped me a great deal.

I suffered with heat rash very badly for a few years and eventually discoved it was being caused by my contraceptive pill. I came off the pill and within a few weeks i didnt get heat rash anymore. Im now on a new pill and so far havent had any problems, fingers crossed. I hope this helps someone,, i know how awful it is.
