22 year old male...losing hair!

So this is whats going on...
About 3 months ago i started noticing that my hairline was receding. It wasnt even noticeable but decided i should do something about. I was recommned nioxi ns step program. Since my hair has always been thin i decided to use is for that reason as well. Well i started using step 1 and i am now using the step 2 program. Ive been using it for about 2 months and my hair has been consistenly falling out. And since its always been pretty thin its starting to look pretty bad already. I was also taking these supplements for a while:Omega 3, Creatine, Tribulus, and a multivitamin. I used them for my workout regimen, but now i have completely stopped taking all except the omega 3 (ive been off everything else for about a month) This falling out business started in may and it just came out of nowhere. I have heard that nioxin must be used for at least 6 months for results. But is there any chance that it could be having a negative effect on my hair? I do notice that some of my hair is thicker than before, but it seems a little too late since alot has fallen off. Dont get me wrong i still have hair and i have thickening gel (alcohol free) and i can make it look like im not really balding...but next time i cut hair its gonna be really noticeable. Im sure the thinning occurred before i started using nioxin, and i dont want to stop using because im trying to be consistent with it. I think i might have to go see a dr to find out whats really going on . Thanks to anyone that responds :)
