Chronic Lower Back Stiffness

I've decided to look for a remedy to address a long history of lower back stiffness (50) yrs. Took a prescription drug years ago (Feldene) and it caused a stomach ulcer. But the stiffness was gone for some time. So no more. I've just learned to live with it, no fun, BUT I manage. But would love to be stiffness-free. I'm 68.

In my research I've found that after answering all the questions about this condition and me, the remedy prescribed is Dioscorea Villosa. Thinking of take the 30C since it is longtime chronic.

Any comments, please.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Dios is remedy that is sensitive to damp conditions.

An interesting rule is that where the stiffness is better after moving about for a while then us Rhus Tox

BUT

Where it is WORSE the more you move use Bryonia.

I have treated many cases of chronic back pain usually resulting from some fall or accident with Arnica 30c in the wet dose taken twice daily.

You are advised to use this remedy and report response in a week.

Joe, I am taking the Arnica wet dose 3 times per day as you recommended.

It does nothing for the stiffness, BUT I may be feeling somewhat less general pain. I will continue with the Arnics and the Nat Phos 6x 3 tabs 2 times per day after a meal as you recommended.

I am taking the Rhus Tox 1M but miss a dose when I can't get it into my schedule.

The Hypericum have stopped for the time being as I was getting confused trying to get all these 4 into my day without interferring with one another. Sorry....

Also, I'm TRULY not able to give up my coffee and don't want to, so I'm juggling that issue also. I've cut back on the amount of coffee
BUT I do enjoy my 2 cups of java.

If you insist on coffee, I do not think that all the homeopathic remedies that I have spent a lot of time suggesting to you both on the ABC and on the numerous emails that I replied, can help you.

I would advise you to forget them all and stay with your precious coffee even though you and I know that your problems will in time exacerbate when you can always use pain killers and other medication which can affect your liver which will be another matter altogether.

Joyce,

I presume you are a female (coz many people here use assumed names).

Look at the drug picture of Sepia and see if your other symptoms match with the drug picture..then it is the med for you.

Sepia ...answers to lower back pain in women most times.

However necessary to match other symptoms.

Best wishes,

Pankaj - yes I looked up Sepia and many symptoms apply to me, especially the back area. Many symptoms listed I do not have.

If I were to try Sepia what does would you recommend to start with 30C or higher. Thank you. joyce

Try with 30c ..three doses in a day. Stop after taking for one day. See..how it goes.

If it shows positive results...repeat same dosage after one week.

Best wishes,
