Eye problem Orbital Pseudotumor

This is not a very common problem, but I wanted to see if there was anyone who has had it and used homeopathic remedies with success. This is my 2nd occurence and the doctors prescribed prednisone and I'm tired of the side effects and looking for other options since this is a condition that may or may not come back. Any suggestions would be great.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
This is definitely a case where you are wise to avoid repeating Steroid or corticosteroid treatment .
As can be seen below this may easily turn into a serious cancer problem.
Also this is a problem originating in inflammation!!
Pulsatilla
Euphrasia
Mercury
Silica
or Hepar Sul
are probably the best remedies to study.

Orbital pseudotumour is a non-specific inflammatory process of the orbit of unknown origin. It is a rarely diagnosed disease particularly in children, which imitates a neoplastic process. Typical clinical picture is a tumour localized in the orbit, causing various degree of exophtalmus and a decrease of globe mobility and vision. The extent of intraorbital changes are revealed by imaging studies (USG, TK, MR). Diagnosis is based on histopathology of tumour sample. In treatment steroid therapy, radiotherapy or chemotherapy in resistant cases are used. Relapse and malignant transformation are observed. CASE REPORT: We present a case of a 5-years old girl with orbital pseudotumour. In the histopathological examination there a small lymphoid cells, immunohistochemically there is mixed lymphocytic T and B infiltration (CD 3 (+), CD 20 (+), bcl (+), CD 43 (-)). She was treated with steroid therapy, and achieved complete regression of the tumour. At present she is regularly oncologically examined because of the possibility of malignant transformation. CONCLUSIONS: 1. Orbital pseudotumour should be included in the differential diagnosis of children with an orbital tumour 2. Corticosteroids seem to be the treatment of choice in orbital pseudotumour 3. Children with orbital pseudotumour should be regularly oncologically examined because of the possibility of malignant transformation.

Thank you for such a quick response. I am new to this forum and have read up some on homeopathy, bach flowers and herbs. I have just tapered down from 60mg of prednisone to 5mg and my symptoms started coming back so the neuro-opthalmologist upped it back to 15mg for a month, then 10mg, then 5mg. I was just starting to come out of this prednisone 'fog' and now this. I am an emotional wreck and not sure which way to turn. Your information on the disease is like alot I've found on the internet(though there is little known about this disease) which increases my already high anxiety. Anyway I'm willing to try the remedies..but I can't just stop prednisone abruptly either. Do these remedies have side effects? Sorry for my lack of knowledge and thank you for the help.

NO you have to stop steroids slowly but ... stop .

Remedies do NOT have side effects , but may show up things that have been hidden by the 'cure' of symptoms in the past.

Oh yes, I do know how tapering too fast off the steroids is not a good thing. My moods are already too fragile to throw anything else into the mix. I'm taking Calms to help my nervousness. My doc is sending me elsewhere now since I'm not responding to the steroids now. What dosage of those remedies should I take and do I have to wait until I'm off the prednisone? I'm so terrified of not doing the right thing, and I'm in pain most of the time. Do any of those help with pain? Thank you for your suggestions.

Mercury Viv 30c once a day for three days and wait a week to judge result.

The other most likely is Euphrasia which one could try at a later date

Do NOT take more than ONE remedy at a time.

Since you said one remedy at a time does that mean I shouldn't use the Calms either? It does seem to help my anxiety a bit. My neuro ophthalmologist has referred me and as for my horrific pain, all he suggests is upping the steriods again from the 15mg that I'm on now to 30mg until my appt. which isn't until OCT!! I can't bear this pain, otc pain relievers aren't helping and going to the ER I think would be a waste of time since this isn't a common thing. I've been all along going thru other things that could be causing my problems, like my clenching and tooth grinding at night. Also someone mentioned Enzymes for the inflammation issue. Any thoughts on these ideas. I don't want to up the steroids, but I can't stand this pain and I do get a brief period of relief each day after taking them?! Sorry to be so long winded! Thank you for listening when no one else seems to be..I so appreciate your suggestions!
