fatigue, migraines, anxiety, and spotting!

Hi. I’m a 24 year old female that suffers from constant fatigue migraine headaches, anxiety, and early menstrual cycles.

About me:

Age: 24
Height: 5’4”
Weight: 156lbs

Diet: A little of everything. I eat a very well balanced diet, limit fats, caffeine and red meat.

Migraine headaches: I have had since I can remember, even as a child. I had very long thick hair, which I cut at age 14 and thinned out to help with the weight on my head. Now my hair stays shoulder length and thinned out. The migraines start under my eyes or at the base of my skull. They make me angry, nauseous, and sensitive to light, temperature, and sound. They can last anywhere from a few hours to a week.

Allergies: Grass and Dust… maybe more, but I’m not sure.

Fatigue: I am always sleepy and tired. I can sleep 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 hours and wake up feeling like I didn’t sleep at all, I tried drinking a caffeinated drink in the morning, changing my sleep schedule, and nothing seems to work. Ginseng doesn’t even help.

Anxiety: I have really bad anxiety. I take valerian root to mellow me out when I need it, but try not to take it often.

Frequent menstrual bleeding: I have birthed 3 wonderful children and have tied tubes. My cycles run at 30 days, but in times of high stress I will start spotting.

If anyone can help with any of these conditions I would greatly appreciate it. I have tried many things and nothing seems to work. Thank you.

Migraines- 12 years; Fatigue- 7 years; Anxiety- 10 years; Menstrual spotting during periods of high stress- 2 years. Acne:2 years.

17. How do you feel ? Tired, a lot.
18. How does this affect you ? I want to go and do things with my family, but I’m always so tired. My migraines cause my life to shut down. I have to go rest in a cool dark place until it subsides.
19. How does it feel like ? Pressure in my face around my eyes, throbbing at some times.
20. What comes to your mind ? someone squeezing my face.
21. One situation that had a big effect on you ? when I was pregnant with my first son, I had a migraine for a week.
22. How did that feel like ? I spent a week in a cold dark room with little light and sound. The pain was unreal. I was nauseous and tired. It felt as if someone took an ice pick to my head.
23. What sensation do you experience in that situation ? pain.

25. current medicine you are taking: Tylenol for the migraines and Valerian root for my anxiety and to help me sleep.

Mother: Stomach Ulcers; Father: Diabetic, high blood pressure; Sisters: Allergies to grass, pollen, dust, etc.

Like- fish, lamb, all vegetables, tofu, rice, noodles, spaghetti, bread, chocolate, especially cookies.
Dislike: Pork, sausage products, celery, very spicy food.
30. Name of foods which increase your problem: when I have lots of caffeine it can cause a migraine. Caffeine doesn’t effect my fatigue.

I try to be a calm and centered person. Honestly I’m always in a hurry and very impatient, especially with my children and husband. It is my job to make sure everyone is where the need to be when they need to be and everything is done and most importantly done correct. Sometimes dealing with my family and my own life makes things somewhat overwhelming. I have great love for my family, and I’m very affectionate with them.
32. Aggravation (increases-time, season,)& Amelioration (Decreases):
My migraines become more aggravated in the spring and summer, less in the fall and winter I am more prone to get a migraine in the afternoon-evening than in the morning.
My fatigue is an all bay every day occurrence. I am ALWAYS tired.
I am more prone to an anxiety attack first thing in the morning on late in the afternoon; it depends on the events of the day that could trigger it.
The menstrual bleeding occurs during times of very high stress. Usually if I’ve been stress out for a few days, it will cause spotting.
The acne occurs the week before and during my period. I have tried many different otc treatments/scrubs/etc, nothing clears it up.

Hier few clues about candida:
Essentially you need to STARVE the yeast and prevent further OVERGROWTH , which means absolutely no sugars , and that includes ALL FRUIT - DRIED & RAW. Not even 'good' sugars like honey, or lactose in milk products (with exception of live yoghourt) You see, yeast feeds off sugar. No yeasty foods such as bread, mushrooms, canned products, pickles, vinegars, cheese, marmite.. Not at all. This is the FOUNDATION of the anti-candida diet, the exclusion of the above.

Traditional Chinese Medicine sees yeast overgrowth as a DAMP condition and would recommend 'drying' the damp so introduce some warmth in the form of some homemade soups and broth, porridge made from whole oats or millet, some steamed fish/poultry, LOTS of steamed fresh veg, lots more WHOLEGRAIN like brown rice, quinoa, spelt , rye. More pulses/beans - chickpeas, mung beans, aduki beans, lentils. All available in health stores. More herbal teas. NO MORE FRUIT for a while. Easy on COLD SALADS for a while. NO MORE DAIRY (except live yoghourt) Nuts also unless lightly toasted can have a yeasty coating on them. It's best to eat a varied diet. Eat little & often. Increase your PROTEIN intake. Nourish the body so you build up your strength and immunity.

Get fresh air. Go for walks. Find nature. Breathe deeply.

Supplement wise - a MUST to kill the Candida Albicans the best is CAPRYLIC ACID. Biocare do a high strengh caprylic called Mycropryl 680 which is wonderfully effective.

A good ACIDOPHILUS/BIDIFUS supplement to replenish good bacteria and counter yeast growth is A MUST for at least next 6 months. Morning and night. Do not take with hot drink. These are a must as you have had Antibiotics. Antibiotics have made your condition WORSE. They cause a proliferation in yeast overgrowth long term.

BIOTIN - one of the lesser known B vitamins is also very helpful.

The herbs GOLDENSEAL, ECHINACEA and GRAPFRUIT SEED EXTRACT are all extremely beneficial anti-candida herbs.

A good quality MULTIVITAMIN & MINERAL SUPPLEMENT is necessary as well as 3-5g or VITAMIN C.

psyllium husk power (4 teaspoons ) everyday!!!!! (cleans inetestines , decrease yeast.

GSE- grapefruit seed extract to kill yeast and bad bacteria.

Essential Fatty Acidsflaxseedoli (drink a little every day on an empty stomach) - soak some linseeds in water and take a couple of spoonfuls a day. V. helpful to keep the bowel moving also.


I suggest you run some internet searches on Candida Albicans to really understand how it manifests, as it has effects on ALL levels - physical, emotional, mental - which is why you are experiencing such crisis.

I about fell out of my chair when i started reading about candida. I read about the symptons and problems that can occur and everything started making sence. As a little girl i kept thrush and a sore throat... to think this has been going on pretty much my whole life...

A question... the first of many..
Can i have Splenda? i've read conflicting information on that.

1. Migraine - get these monthy, usually stress or monthy cycle bring them on. Last about 3 to 4 days. Take Zomig which will get rid of headache but they come back the next day. Some times I get them 2 weeks in a row with a few days off. Always tired with them. I work through them but this does not help. Had migraines for qbout 20 years - worse the last 4 years.

2. Always tired - even when I have had a week or 2 off. I always want to sleep all weekend but never do. Hate feeling this way. Been this way for years.

3. Depression - taking prozac to help as I wanted to hide in a cupboard and not come out. A year ago my brother died. Then was bullied at work. Left job. Got new job - very happy but hard class. Feeling alot better in myself. Been on med for 6 months now.

Very patient as have a tough class of 10 year olds. Work takes over most nights and weekends.

My dad had migraines when young but they ended when he had a triple bypass.
