Hoodia - A weight loss product?

Have anyone heard the latest hype about the alleged benefit of the plant Hoodia gordonii grow in Kalihari Desert?

The active ingredient in Hoodia is patented and is not legal at this time for any company to sell Hoodia in a weight loss product except for the patent's owner. That company isn't ready to sell this product in market until 2008 (This plant grows very slow)

However, there are products on the market claim to contain Hoodia.

Could be fake?

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Sam,
The health ranger (Mike Adams) has an article about this on his site. The ones claiming to contain Hoodia are fake. They are being brought up on charges.

Members may be aware that I have pioneered in using Nat Phos 6x for weight reduction. I have shared my discovery on Christmas Day 2004 the day before the Tsunami hit Sri Lanka on:

I am aware that many thousands have used this simple and safe method of reducing weight and I would recommend anyone who is interested to use it and to report their response.

The average reduction is in the region of a minimum 1 pound per week but this can be even 1 Kg depending on one's present weight.
