Silicea 1M versus 200c

I have another post on this site related to the details, but just wanted a quick answer to this question so I broke off with another post.

I have been using Silicea 30C for my son's swollen glands most likely due to a reaction from his MMR vaccination (long story). Anyway, I have received all of the benefits available from the 30c and planned to move up to the 200c next, however, there is a back-up on that order so it has been delayed. I have received Silicea 1M and 10M in today's mail from a different supplier. My question is this, can I safely use the 1M and skip the 200c or would it be recommended that I wait for the 200c and continue with the 30c until then?

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
silicea is deep and long acting remedy so not advisable to keep on repeating the dose - especially high pot eg. 200c , 1m . you say 'you've received all the benefits available' - by this due you mean you believe the remedy to have run its course? How so?

If u absolutely sure (difficult to judge when not u who is the patient) then ONE dose of 200c and wait.

The 200c is often a provoker of problems and the 1M is a better bet.

However swollen glands are doing a job and working hard to cure a problem.

It may be that it would be better to use Hepar Sul , which promotes the absorbtion of toxins and the elimaination via the lymph system -- also Hep Sul follows Sil very well.

I tend to agree with walkin. I know you ve been using Sil. for a while now. A higher potency may not be the end all.A change or compliment may be needed.CAlc carb also follows well.

Since I have already given him the 30c today, I will give him the 1M tomorrow and wait to see the results. Should I expect to see an aggrevation of symptoms?

Carlotta - In using the 30C, the glands reduce and pop back up again after each dose, so they are responding, but not permanently, hence the higher potency. I haven't used it yet, plan to use it tomorrow morning.

Walkin and Sycotic - If the higher potency doesn't work (how long should I wait to see results?) then I will consider Hepar Sul or Calc Carb, via the Materia Medica info and whicever seems most appropriate.

Thanks guys, I LOVE this site, can you say ADDICTED? (wink)

The Hepar Sul is more fitting to my son's general characteristics per the materia medica, even right down to him craving vinegar flavors, such as pickles!! I thought this was an odd toddler trait. I recently ordered a 50 remedy kit which I have not gotten yet, I'm not sure if this remedy is in it. Once the Silicea is exhausted and showing no signs of improvement (I should say IF this happens) I will try the Hepar Sul, but should I wait for a certain period between the two, how long should I wait to see results from the Silicea, if there will be any?

In acute situations such as this one would want to see a response quite quickly. Like youve been seeing with silica. Since the glands keep returning, chances are they will with the higher potency. Since we are working acutly give the 2nd remedy if/when it is apparent silica has failed. Reactions are always different.

Ok so this is strange, normally when I give the Silicea 30c, he has a fairly immediate response, the glands go down about half way. They they would then eventually re-swell before the next dose would become necessary in the same day. We were down from 4 doses a day, to two. But today, they swelled more after I gave him his first dose this morning, and by this evening (it's 5pm) they are smaller. Does this reaction indicate anything different should be done or should I continue on the same course, planning to give a half dose of 1M tomorrow?

I can see how this can be so much more confusing than standard allopathy or OTC meds, but has a much more encouraging outcome.

So do I understand only one dose was given today ? In homeopathy of course less is more. If improvement is lasting WAIT. The easiest prescription is to do nothing.

ps. No such thing as half a dose one pellet is one dose.5pellets are one dose.
Regards.

Sycotic - His glands swelled back up again tonight, as expected, but not as large as they were to start with.

For the 1M, it calls for 4 pellets per dose, I was told to use half a dose because he is 15 months old, hence two pellets rather than 4.
